Yee haw! We are in the Texas hill country and loving it. Got here on Wednesday and will be leaving this area tomorrow. We are staying at Buckhorn RV Resort in Kerrville where we have stayed at least 3 times. We really like this place. It is centrally located to places that we like to visit and the resort is beautiful. We went to Fredericksburg yesterday and walked the town and had lunch. It was a great relaxing day. Today we drove around Kerrville and had lunch at the Mexican place we like. We then took a little drive into Ingram which sits along the Guadalupe River. There were thunderstorms here today which made for an interesting day. The rain blew out all of the humidity so it turned out to be a pleasant day. Tomorrow ... read more

Dec 13 , 2010 San Antonio to Kerrville Today my sister Laura and I took a scenic loop drive out of San Antonio to Kerrville and back. We went on I-10 west to Boerne and got on 46 west and took it to Hwy 16 which runs north through Bandera and Medina to Kerrville. Coming into Bandera if you turn left at the light downtown instead of right there will be a nice little park on the right before the river suitable for picnicking. Going right at the light instead takes you north out of Bandera towards Medina. Going north out of Medina on Hwy 16 there is a sign that says if you are towing a trailer not to go that way. Last night, after a visit to Tire Kingdom, we drove a little more 'till Crowley City (150 miles west from New Orleans)... we finally woke up a little early this time and drove, drove, drove, drove and drove a little more! That is all we did all day long, drive! We got to see Texa's neck of the woods plus the arms and legs ... farm and more farm... I used to think that I had a redneck backyard, but Texas country site has the whole package, you can't bit that!... front, sides, backyard full of junk. We stopped at Stephen Austin State Park for a quick Launch/dinner time. We forgot that today is the last saturday before Xmas and the got the wrong route... Houston was unbearable!
