Wake Up Sunshine !!!
Trying to get Kayla and Emily out of the bed so they can see some of the beautiful countryside. Oh yea, and the bugs !! Today started off as your typical vacation day. We woke up around 8:30 and headed towards the nearest "Truck Stop" for our daily cleansings. The girls seemed to handle it much better today, after all, they had about 24 hours for the shock to wear off !! They were very excited to find out that they actually got to sleep in a state rest area last night instead of the Wal-Mart parking lot. We left the showers and proceeded to the closest Wal-Mart to stock up on several things that were still needed. I am happy to say that we are now all the proud owners of our very own, fullly stocked, SHOWER BUCKETS, complete with color coordinated sponges and flip flops !! I really think we have it all now ! (Until tomorrow when we realize there's a whole new list !) How could I forget the sweet (crazy) lady that Tim met on aisle 11 in the camping section. She insisted on telling him how it would save us so much trouble dumping the waste from the motor home if we would just put our "used" toilet paper in paper bags instead of down the toilet!! That was a
Wolfman !!
Tim and his wolf buddy at the Lewis and Clark Museum. Kodak moment if I ever saw one. Tim looked at me like "how the hell do I respond to that!" And here we were thinking that all the crazy people lived in Georgia ! After our daily dose of Wal-Mart (I feel like Donna!) we headed out for the Kansas border. We couldn't stop for pictures at the Kansas line because it was over the water like some of the others we had incurred. It really didn't matter at that point because Kayla and Emily were fast asleep by then anyway. They had filled their little bellies with some of those good ole Crunch Berries and we didn't hear from them for quite sometime. As a matter of fact, they continued sleeping all the way through the Iowa border as well as Nebraska. Heck, they didn't even get up until we hit South Dakota and that's just because they were hungry again. Before we left Missouri we did make a small pit stop at the lovely colonial home of President Harry S. Truman and his wife Bess. Did you know that he didn't even want to be in politics he only ran for president because his clothing company went bankrupt?
Tee Pee Time !!
Told ya we were having some fun !! Oh yeah, and his in-laws hated him so it took him 8 years to convince poor Bess to marry him. Well, pretty much the only other stop we made all day was at the Lewis and Clark Museum in Nebraska City, Nebraska. Yes, you guessed it the girls slept right through it but Tim and I managed to have a little fun. (Get your mind out of the gutter Lynn and Ginger!) The other 12 hours of the day were spent drivin' and a ridin'. We spanned 5 states today including Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota. I must say I have NEVER seen so many bugs in all of my life !!! We actually hit a small patch of lightening bugs during the night and they stuck to the windshield and we were literally glowing while we were driving down the road. Seriously, how many people can say they've done that ?? In addition to one million different species of bugs, we did manage to see some really beautiful countryside and hills today . Some of you may or may not know that Tim is famous for killing poor innocent animals while driving like a maniac. Well after
Catch Me I"m Falling !!
Ok, so me and Emmy tried to hold Kayla sideways but anyone who knows Kayla knows that this was a crazy idea in the first place. After all she is Ms. Graceful !! today, he can add "poor little birdie" to his list of road kill. It was CRAZY, we were going down the road and I was dozing off and all of a sudden I hear this loud thump. I look up and this little bird is rolling across the windshield. I thought holy cow we just killed a bird !! Of course I'm all sad and Tim's just like "that was awesome !!!". A few hours later I'm sitting at the table reading my trash magazines (in honor of Sheryl) and I hear Tim yelling "Where am I? Where am I?" Okay, I'm thinking he's finally lost it or either he's had a stroke or something. After all, he is the pilot ! I trip over everything, stumped my toe, just to get to the front of the RV to find out that he's screaming at that stupid Magellan Navigational thing he has mounted on the dashboard. I felt like a complete idiot, I had no idea you could talk out loud to it and it would talk back !! Emmy and Kayla were up and down most of the evening. They watched the entire first season of Will and Grace
Tim's Little Co-Pilot !
I'm thinking that there's probably not a thing on MySpace that can help Tim with directions ! and I think I even heard them laugh a little. Yay !!! We stopped and had dinner somewhere in South Dakota at a famous golfer's restaurant and then headed back on the road. We've stopped at a state rest stop for the night (at Kayla's request) to get some sleep and then we'll be headed to Mt. Rushmore in the morning. We are planning on staying in that area, at a campsite, for about two days so we can get in all the attractions near there. Please pray for Kayla and Emily because they are going to have to bathe at the campground and this may just throw my little diva's over the edge !!! Good night and love to all. Candy

WAL-MART
Just wondering, are all Wal-Mart's the same out there?
