For my own record I wanted to keep a list of where I have enjoyed worshipping this summer. It has been a great blessing to concentrate on my own worship life and simply enjoy the experience of being fed and strengthen through Word and Sacrament. I have been impressed and encouraged by what God's people are doing in different communities all around the world. I have heard the gospel proclaimed through great preaching. I have felt uplifted by amazing music, rich liturgy, and strong hymnody. God's spirit within me has been moved by heartfelt prayers lifted from a variety of voices within a congregation. Day 170 (Tuesday 06/10/09, NJJ) Had the worst breakfast that we've had at any motel of our travels - dry mini donuts and unpleasant coffee. Drove to Charleston. Stopped to visit Magnolia and Drayton Plantations but didn't go in cos we were too tight to pay. Parked in downtown Charleston. Walked around the markets and streets to see the historical homes and then along the peninsula. Had a buffalo chicken footlong at Subway. On the Fort Sumter visitor centre then Fort Moultrie to walk around the fort and to see Fort Sumter in the bay. In Spartanburg we ended up checking in to an Econo Lodge where we have microwave dinners and watched hours of TV. ... read more
