10/02/11 - Manheim, PA - Hershey Tour Went to Hershey Factory Tour today. Learned some very interesting things about the Hershey Company, to much to list here, but I will hit the highlights-- Milton Hershey had like six business failures before he hit the right combination, Just a couple of days before another business failure he got an order from England for some of his caramel...his bank president had to co-sign personally in order for him to fill the order....this put him on his way. Later he discovered that the English were coating his caramel in chocolate...this started him on his chocolate path. Now about the school - - Milton and his wife Kitty could not have children so they started a school for orphan boys. This school owns 53 percent of Hershey Chocolate Company and ... read more

9/30/11 - Friday 64 degrees - LeRoy to Manheim Went to the falls this am, so getting a late start. We started out on the American side of the falls and walked over into Canada. The best view of the falls if from half way across the bridge. Another curious thing is that you have to pay a toll of 50 cents per person to come into the USA, but nothing to go into Canada. We had our passports and no guns, so we got into Canada with little to no hassle. Once we got back to the motorhome from the falls we headed for Manheim, PA, Arrived there late and Shelby made a little mistake in entering the park and clean the roofs of both motorhomes.
