10/03/11 - -Manheim, PA - - Amish Farm Tour - Amish Restaurant
Today we started the day off with a healthy breakfast from Dunkin' Donuts :-)
After working on the blog a little while we left to go to an Amish Farm. After riding around for about 45 minutes we went back to the motorhome to get the camera and realized we were only 19 miles from the farm. Went on the tour and met a woodcarver who had a fantastic personality. He had a huge slingshot mounted on the roof of his car and he would not let us leave until he gave us a demonstration of his marksmanship by shooting green walnuts over the barn at the farm. He also carved a small flower for me to give to my Bride!!!
We learned a lot about the Amish way of life from this tour - - very interesting.
We ate at an Amish Restaurant - Deinners, in Ronk, PA. Was buffet style and very good.
