Well you all know me - I love a good deal... and this has to be the best. The public transport system of Portland - you can take the MAX metro train, streetcar and busses all for $2 a day - if you are an HONOURED CITIZEN - in other words a senior !!!! Nearly Seattle
Hi Lynne I was waiting for that next blog after the news we had about the collapse of the bridge towards Seattle! The road might be a bit slow now or perhaps a detour of some kind. Oregon is a place we would like to visit. Ruth and Tim went there with NZ Youth Choir and the photos are so pretty. All the best for the last segment of your amazing journey. Love Jocelyn

Hi Lynne - what a wonderful looking place - I was amazed by the friendliness of folk in SA when I was there - opening their doors to strangers with a only a tenuous link! We have just had a weekend with cousins in Folkestone - 20 relatives (some unexpected) - fabulous barbecue in the garden, yes in the garden in very hot sunshine!!!!!! Today we lazed, again in the sun and had a few games of Petanque - lots of wine was consumed and today we had Bucks Fizz - no I am not trying to compete with you .....!
