Lucky Charms

A year of retirement in my 30's. Progressive thinking or insanity? Maybe a little bit of both. Either answer is fine by me. Spending 1.5 years seeing as much of the world as possible. Full Service Station

In Oregon all stations are Full Service. You can not pump your own gas. The only other state in the Union that does this is New Jersey.

Clear Cut Logging

Lots of clear cut logging goes on around here. They plant the trees back right away and about 50 years later they are harvested again.

Lap of Luxury

I splurged and forked out $27 for this Yurt in Mendocino, Oregon. I lived the high life that night!

Coquille Lighthouse

This was near my campsite in Mendocino. It was built in 1896.

Harbor Seals

Several seals were hanging out around this pier during my visit. Whenever I got close they would go under water. They also dove right before the crest of the wave would hit them.

Tree Stumps

The ocean tossed these stumps up on the shore.

Ling Cod

I was told that I must eat Ling Cod somewhere in the northwest. Here it is. It was great. I had hoped however, it would have been baked.

Never dreamed there would be this many sand dunes along Oregon's Coast.

Sand Dunes

They drive ATV's all over this sand.

Jack Unger Memorial

I loved this memorial. It was to all the men that have lost their lives in this area trying to earn a living on the sea. These are the roughest seas I have seen anywhere on this trip.

Working Man Memorial

This memorial meant a lot to me! It's located in Salmon Harbor, Oregon.

Lost of these are rolling out of Oregon.

End of Oregon Trail

Those are wagon frames you see. No not actual size. They would not let me in because I was 2 minutes late for the tour that had just started. I almost had a Griswold moment but decided to just move on.

Roots in St. Joseph, Missouri. I felt a long way from Missouri just imagine how far the settlers felt away from Missouri.
