So here's a little bit of what I've been doing recently while I'm home!
May 20-22
In celebration of my brothers 18th birthday, 9 of us took two cars and drove to Carolina Beach for a weekend at the beach. Josh brought his girlfriend and some friends and we enjoyed really sunny weather the whole weekend. We all stayed in a big suite at an oceanside hotel with a great view of the water. Some of slept on the ground some nights, but it was fun nevertheless. Mia got to come too so we had a lot of fun playing different sports on the beach and swimming. We watched a movie every night with all of us in the main suite bedroom, crammed onto the two queen beds. Then on Sunday we went to the aquarium, which had an albino alligator! Pretty cool. They also had a bunch of different type of really cool fish and a couple different types of jelly fish. There was also a horseshoe crab petting exhibit. They had an alligator exhibit with 3 big alligators inside and I got a video of one of the alligators that got realllyyyy mad! I didn't know alligators
could roar, but they definitely can. He was really mad (probably at all the people staring at him through the glass) and started roaring at us. The water vibrated and shook from the powerful tones! It was kind of creepy.
Next to our hotel was a beach boardwalk with different shops and even a few rides. We decided to go on the "rok n roll", where you got inside this cage type car and went around in a circle on the track, but it also flipped you upside down in circles. The boardwalk even had mini golf!
On Saturday night we had a nice birthday dinner for my brother Josh at a restaurant called Havana's. The food was excellent and I think everyone had a really nice time!

Peak Fest! One of the biggest festivals in our tiny town of Apex, Peak Fest is a day long festival where a bunch of local craft makers and vendors set up shop along the main street of downtown Apex. Mia and I enjoyed walking back and forth past all the different sellers. There's also rides and different kinds foods to try. It was
such a beautiful Saturday after a raining spell we had had for the previous week.

Today we decided to drive to Durham (a town near mine) to the Museum of Science and Life, because we wanted to do something fun today since my family is here visiting. It was a really cool museum with a lot of unique exhibits I had never seen before anywhere else. There was an actual building, in which they had different exhibits on weather, geology, bones, music, space, and North Carolina Wildlife. There were a lot of interactive exhibits for weather, which were pretty cool. Like a bowl holding basically a cloud. You can reach in and feel it and it's quite moist as one would guess. There was also an entire outdoor section to the museum, which had a section of farmyard animals, a "dinosaur trail" with dinosaur recreations, a wildlife trail with bears and wolves, and also a butterfly house. The butterfly house was a really cool indoor area with tons of butterflies in an climate controlled room. Some of them even land on you too. Next to the butterfly room was also an insectarium
with a ton of different insects. There were some really gross ones haha.
