Occupy Wall Street is social injustice movement started by a Canadian activist group called AdBuster. It began on September 17,2011 in Liberty Square in the financial district of Manhattan, New York. The movement is inspired by the Arab Spring Movement where people are protesting against "dictatorship, human rights violations, government corruption, economic decline, unemployment, extreme poverty" in the Arab countries. The goal of the movement is to expose and inform about how the top 1% is controlling our economy. Other factors the movement focuses on are high unemployment rate, corp greed, income inequality, and the current economic situation. The protesters in this movement represent the rest of the 99% people. Started at Wall Street, this movement has spread to cities across the nation and globe.

I believe that this movement will be ineffective, so I do not support this movement. Occupy Wall Street has attracted a lot of attention and awareness about the top 1%, but I believe that it is not enough to change the way things work in the economy and nation. The protesters do not have power to change any policies or laws to help the situation. The people in power are the top 1%!w(MISSING)ho have the control. Moreover, Occupy Wall Street has caused violence, money, and time. In addition, I believe that some people are wasting their time because if they have the time to protest, they should instead be positive and look for a job, and this correlates to why unemployment rates so high. Therefore, I believe that we should vote for political leaders that support this cause or we should propose policies to lawmakers to make a change.http://occupywiki.info/wiki/Main_Pagehttp://occupywallst.org/about/are
