Ponte Delgada, Boston, New York
Hi everyone,
As you may have heard our cruise itinerary had to change due to Hurricane Igor that was hitting Bermuda when we sailing towards there. We would have been stuck in the middle of it so the captain made the decision to change course and head to Boston instead of Bermuda. Although we were a little disappointed we still enjoyed Boston where we did a city tour and visited the church where Paul Revere hung his lanterns to warn that the british were coming and visited the famous Quincy Markets.
We arrived in New York around 7am via the Hudson River and sailed right by The famous Statue of Liberty. What a beautiful harbour Manhattan is also. Day 1 in New York we walked to Times Square then took the subway and did a walking tour of Ground Zero, it was very moving to visit the tribute museum and see the site. They are hoping to have the new buildings completed by 2014. We then walked to Battery Park where you get a nice view of the Statue of Liberty and as you can see Cheryl and I got into the New
York spirit. Afterwards Lorraine and I shopped at Century 21 while the boys visited the NY Police Museum. We had to be back on board the ship to have our last dinner before we disembarked the next moring. It was sad to leave our ship but onto the next part of our holiday.
Today we visited the Empire State Building where we ascended to the 86th floor for a great view over New York . A quick visit to Macys which is conveniently only about 2 mins from our hotel to look for some bargains. A little bit disappointing, there are not any sales happening just the usual mark down for end of season, we are hoping the outlets prove more fruitful.
Tomorrow we are going to visit Central Park and take a sunset cruise around Manhattan Island.
I hope you are all enjoying our blogs and don't find them too boring.
Keep you posted

AMERICA WILL NEVER BE THE SAME
Hi Bic, Well you girls are certainly enjoying yourselves and it sounds as though the boys are too. We are certainly missing your happy laugh here and with all the problems we are having with sap, we need your expertise as well. So good to hear it is all going well and you sound so bright and up. Give my love to Lorraine and hurry back soon. Keep the blogs coming as I look forward to hearing and seeing you all on the internet. Love Bev x x
