Palazzo Living Room in Suite

We had to get up very early to be at DCA airport for an 8:00am flight to Las Vegas. Originally I had booked the flight for around 11:00 am but just before we started our trip I received an email saying that the flight time had changed. At the time I wasn't very happy, but today was the day that Storm Jonas was expected to hit, so we started to think that getting out early might be for the best.
The airport was in total chaos, with cancelled flights and masses of people trying to get out of town. They had a self check-in and baggage drop system that wasn't very clear to us. I got some help and as we were a group of eight they assigned a staff member to fast track us through.
We even got interviewed for the local morning news show on our way to the plane. We later found out that ours was the last flight out of DC before they closed the airport, so we became very grateful for our flight change.
We found out later that day that our daughter, who had caught the train to Philadelphia after leaving us in New York,

Jan 22 2016 08 View from Prestige Lounge in the Palazzo had been fairly snowed in the whole of their time in Philly and sadly when they arrived in Washington, they were snowed in there too and all of the museums were closed due to the storm. Luckily everything opened up after the weekend, but sadly they only got one full day in DC to see everything.
Our timing was perfect once again.
We landed safely in Vegas and I was totally shocked to see poker machines in the airport before we could even collect our luggage. I have to admit I did not want to visit Las Vegas, it was only the lure of a trip to the Grand Canyon that got me here. I don't enjoy shopping or gambling and I suspected there would not be much else there, and it turned out I was right.
We checked in to Prestige at Palazzo. Lovely to be given a glass of bubbles on check in and the rooms were amazing, we all had our own suites. The hotel itself was massive. It was at least a ten minute walk from the elevator to our room.

The Palazzo Las Vegas
Jan 22 2016 10 The Palazzo Las Vegas caught cabs to the premium outlets. I lasted about an hour, before admitting that I really hated shopping and cabbing back to the hotel, where I spent a lazy couple of hours reading and surfing the net.
As we were staying at the Prestige level, we got to access the Prestige Lounge for cocktails and snacks. That was very enjoyable, so we spent a couple of hours there each evening before dinner. Dinner on our first evening was at the Bacchanal Buffet. It was okay, but probably wouldn't go back. Next was an earlyish night after our very early start and long day.
