LUXOR
Vegas full of over the top hotels!Have had a couple of fabulous days with Deb and Tim, they left this morning to head down to Palm Desert - had a great breaky at the Ellis Island Casino - a local haunt - prices are real old Las Vegas prices and good quality as well. Spent the day walking the strip - did 18klm today - lots to see and do - 30 degrees here today so very hot when walking a long way - I don't think we want to see another slot machine, casino or gambling for a long time - then had Blake and Suzy around for drinks before we headed north up the strip to Florida Cafe - a neat little Cuban restaurant - John and I ordered a few tapas plates and then shared a main - perfect! Goodbyes to Blake and Suzy as they have an 8.00a.m. flight back to Layfayette - we have had a great time catching up with them all.
Saturday - last day in Vegas - did last walk on the strip and booked in for a late leisurely lunch in the Venetian at Zine - we enjoyed it very much - then strolled up to the
NEW YORK NEW YORK
Huge complex with a roller coaster and rides on top, this is where we saw Zumanity Stratosphere - John did all the rides at the top - like a kid in a lolly shop - loved them!! Had to get to the Stratosphere before happy hour ran out at 7.00p.m. - you don't pay if you go to the bar up the top - had a drink then John did his thing - not for me! Took his mind off being crook - I suspect he may have pneumonia - booked to see the doc on Tuesday when we get home!
Sunday - packed up left Vegas - but not before rearranging bags one had 32kg had to get down to 23 - 4 hour trip took us 6hrs - the traffic was horrendous around Primm, crawling for a few kilometres and then again at Barstow and then closer to LA the freeways just stopped moving every 10km or so - god knows what they are like on a weekday!!! Late night flight so plenty of time - when down to Manhattan Beach - then dropped car off and now relaxing in the KAL lounge ready for departure 10.50p.m. Sadly our lovely holiday is coming to an end.
