So far, we have met Chinese, Spanish, Indian people, but hardly any Americans...we checked out and started our drive to vegas at about 10.30am. THe scwenery was amazing, as we passed through Inyo National Park (which was driving up and down steep hills between imposing rock faces), and then we got onto Highway 168 and drove through a huge sandstorm.

Once on highway 95, we passed a weapons testing site and Zoe was convinced she saw a rocket being launched, as it travelled vertically as it took off.

We stopped off in Beatti for some puppy pancakes (little doughy balls covered in cinammon - deep fried obviously) and then got back on the road and passed a sign that said 'last service station before Area 51'. I got very excited as I didnt realise Area 51 was on our route...it turns out it wasn't, so no aliens for me.

We arrivedin Vegas 5.5 hours after leaving Mammoth Lakes, at 4pm. We checked into The Riviera, showered and went for a wander down the North end of the strip. After a nutritious dinner of MacDonalds, we saw a net acrobat in Circus Circus and Zoe and Faye went on the Xscream ride at the top of the Stratosphere, while mum and I drank cocktails in the bar below.
