What happens in Vegas....well...happens in Vegas
Short blog. Yay. I've only really had one full day here and already I have to get ready for my next stop (San Fran). I feel like I'm on a constant move! but I'm enjoying it....still 2 weeks to go! I left NYC saturday afternoon after a late rise from my night out on the town and I had a great shuttle ride where I met a girl from Phoenix and another from LA who were chatty chatty and quite hilarious to talk to. One I may even meet up with in San Fran.
Anyways I had a 5 hour flight with American Airlines to Vegas and I arrived here around 7pm. It took a while to get a shuttle from the airport to my hotel the Hilton Grand and I made a total goof by telling them the wrong Hilton hotel as there are a number of them here in Vegas. Guess I should have checked the booking first before I arranged the shuttle right?
I wasn't able to be dropped off by the shuttle driver as he didn't dropoff at the Hilton I was staying at so I caught a
cab and I eventually arrived here around 8.30pm. Lonnnnng day. Instead of hitting the town I decided to stay in so I could get a full day of touring around sin city. One thing about the hotel I am staying at is that it reeks of smoke. When I say reek.....I mean it f*ckin REEKS lol smoking is permitted pretty much everywhere and I noticed people smoking in hotel lobeys in just about every hotel. Totally gross.
So I awoke at 2.30am *GUDDAMMIT* and then dozed on and off for the next 5 or so hours. My sleep patterns are really all over the shop at the moment but I'm powering on.
I headed to the strip after a hearty breakfast at the hotel and walked from the hotel which is located at the north of the strip all the way down to the MGM Grand (5 hours of constant walking around!!!). There were people everywhere! I visited all these big name hotels, shopped at the Forum and took some pretty cool pics.
*Note that 99% of all my photo's on my blogs for this trip are from my iPhone 4 - pretty sweet!*
It's weird
to see all these places after seeing them in the movies and/or on TV. It seems like a world away when you watch them but when you're here it's surreal. Yes surreal - I say it a lot but it's true. No other way to describe it.
Another weird thing about Vegas is that they have sound systems littered throughout even at bus stops, blaring dance music. Not run of the mill dance but fullon techno! guess it really is a party town.
Vegas is definitely a place you need to visit with someone else though, not on your own as I have noticed I'm by myself more here than when I was in New York. Hmmm...Anyways, onto the next.
P.S. Apologies for the spelling/ grammar mistakes - I've read a few of them back and it's annoying to me. But after typing away so long I get bored and can't be bothered spell checking. Soooooo. Yea. Whatever.
Outties xx
