OK, after some reconsideration I decided that the day-time stories are innocent enough for public reading.
I was planning, on the first day in Vegas, to go check out the strip(the street with all the major hotels/casinos).
I share the room with 6blokes who form one group and travel together and a Korean girl.
After a bit of a talk with the Korean girl I decided to invite her along for my strip-trip, which she quite enthusiastically accepted.
So in the morning we ate some of the free pancakes, made a list of what to do and see on the strip and set out, taking the bus to the far end of the strip.
From where we would walk back until we had seen all there was to be seen in Vegas.
We entered pretty much each casino on the way which caught our eye.
The first one being Mandalay Bay which aside from the scenery outside of little waterfalls and palmtrees was nothing really special(besides being a huge 1st class casino and hotel obviously)
From the Mandalay Bay we took the walkway connecting it to the Luxor, which made us end up in a giant pyramid style hotel
completed with a bunch of sphinxes in and outside.
Next on the list was Camelot, which on its turn, besides looking a bit comical on the outside did not exceed our imagination.
On our way to the first highlight we passed by the 'New York, New York', a 'cheap' remake of the real thing.
That first highlight was the MGM Grand, a jungle inspired Casino/Hotel which also hosts a bunch of real Lions and cwute wittle wion cubs.
The lions were quite inactive but were well visible trough the glass corridor they were lying on.
Next was the M&M shop, which at 4stories was one higher as the one in NY but not as new and dynamic.
Following that Paris was next, they seem to like replicas in this ol' town.
With a 'arc de triomphe' and 'eiffel tower' just a bit smaller than the real thing(or atleast that was my impression, I didn’t actually measure them) and lovely little replica streets inside of the casino it was nice and Eunmi was thoroughly impressed as she had never been to Europe which, as probably most non Europeans, she had always wanted to visit sometime.
Next thing I was
Sfinx
Thats probably how the pharao's posed in front of the sfinxes too... happy to hear that my companion was getting kind of hungry so we started to look for something to eat, found a nice place and had some pizza.
Then we continued to the Bellagio which has some nice botanical gardens and a rather cool water fountain show outside.
After the show we went on to Caesers palace, where I was pleasantly surprised as it was very nicely finished inside and was pretty big too.
We also visited Caesers forum shops which was pretty much a big mall built in roman style and hosting most designer brands and stuff like that.
There we found a bunch of cool fountains inside with one in particular, the Atlantis.
It had a sign saying the show would commence in five minutes, so we waited a bit.
And well the show was pretty unusual, or 'specioal' as they say at home.
It had all kinds of statues coming and going from under the fountain, music, speech, water being sprayed everywhere, fire and some light effects.
Which all together told the story of the demise of Atlantis in a peculiar way, involving ...a dragon.
I guess most of it was true according to the old myths
Camelot
a valiant knight outside the castle xo and they simply americanized it a bit.
Next was the flamingo, and you’ll never guess what they had there besides ducks, birds and big fish...
There we relaxed a bit in the central park, after all all this walking was pretty tiresome.
While we were sitting there one of the flamingos aproached us and said 'arrrgh mate'y, ye be lookin like a fine bunch of pirates. You so appened to be not intrested in findin me loast treassure aye'
Well, I think its quite obvious we were rather startled at this turn off events but found out that the flamingo was part flamingo, part pirate(he was also part zombie but that’s a different story) and was looking for a crew to go steal back his treasure from another pirate vessel.
Allright allright, back to reality. From the flamingos we headed on to the next casino called 'Treasure island' :O where there was .. a pirate show involving a ship and well pirates obviously doing all kinds of tricks and jumping off the masts and stuff.
So after some fraternising with my brothers we left again towards Venice(the Venetian) which was also nice and included two waterways with gondolas
Miss liberty Vegas
I guess they are sisters or something outside and one on the second floor.
The Venetian was perhaps also the one which looked the coolest on the inside, with replica ceiling paintings, impressive looking corridors with big pillars and finishing in gold.
Which made it a proper ending for our trip down the strip as we had pretty much seen all the cool casinos and had gotten pretty tired from the long walk.
After a bit of grocery shopping we headed back to the hostel for dinner and getting ready...
At which point I am afraid I will have to bid you farewell 😉
