Off to Vegas we go. 4 hours later, 1 gas/pee break and 2 naps later WE ARRIVED, and it was COLD. No seriously it was chilly willy when we got there. We pulled up to the Flamingo checked out the sweet pink flamingos (the real ones duhh), mixed up some cocktails, got checked into our room with views of the Bellagio fountains and got all dressed up for our big night at the Bellagio. We started by meeting up with Matt and Michelle in their sweet digs, mixing up some more drinks and consuming them together. From there we walked through the atrium of beautiful flowers arrangements all set up for earth day. In the pictures the frog, snail, mushrooms and everything in the room was made up of all flowers. It was gorgeous and it smelled so delicious and sweet. After taking pictures and listening to our grumbling stomachs, it was off to the Bellagio Buffet and wow that was everything that it was cracked up to be. AWESOME. Evan and Matt came across a fact sheet while waiting in line, (must be something to keep their guests entertained) where they found out that the Bellagio buffet ALONE goes through
close to ONE MILLION POUNDS of Prime Rib a YEAR. (After discussing this with the dad, and his somewhat exaggerated math skills-- he said that would be around 3 lbs a minute.. WHICH IS NUTS) Anyways, Jamie and Evan ate their WEIGHT in king crab legs. I ate a huge delicious salad with 4 different kinds of cheese on it 😊 prime rib, crab legs, tuna poke, salmon poke, tons of different raw fish, some delicious pasta, mussels, oh man that was just dinner, my dinner. Others ate loads of calamari, shrimp, more and more crab dipped in BUTTER, mashed potatoes and gravy, asparagus, creamed spinach, some crazy Vietnamese dishes..etc. For dessert we ate Tiramisu, creme brulee, chocolate cake. Oh man, I couldn't eat but one bite of dessert I was stuffed to the max. By the time we made it to dinner, my damn shoes were already killing, one more bite of dessert probably would have had me on my ass. Damn heels. From here were ROLLED into the O theatre where we saw the most unbelievable Cirque Du Soleil show ever. IT WAS SO WORTH IT. Crazy contortionists, synchronized swimming, unbelievable diving and things honestly that blew all
of our minds. I don't want to ruin it for those that haven't seen it but GO SEE IT.
After the show we walked, I limped, over to the new city center. It was really modern looking, it kind of freaked me out though it was so futuristic looking-- just too much for me. I guess I am more simple then that crazy place. Anyways at that point we decided to head back to the Flamingo, gamble and party for free so we can hit the pool the next day early.
Friday morning we woke up and headed to the pool. Enjoyed lounging in the sun and freezing our butts off in the ice cold pool. It was nothin for the two cold-blooded fish I was with, but for me, not so much. We left the pool around 3 and walked to Chipotle for lunch, then through the Venetian to see the crazy expensive stores and show Evan the sites. I picked up a pair of shoes in this one store, where I was searching for the decimal point they were so expensive (mind you we were in our swim suit, cover ups and yesterdays make-up) . After
this we decided to get a yard margarita with 5 extra shots ($45 bucks later), which weighed 20 lbs, it was fantastic.
After getting all dolled up, we headed back to the Bellagio where we sat in front of the Bellagio fountains (MY FAVORITE PART OF VEGAS) for 3 shows. Check out the video I attached. You'll get the picture. With large smiles we met up with Evan's good friend from CPK, Milan and her friends who were all in Vegas celebrating her 21st birthday. Of course we wanted to join in on the festivities so we enjoyed Noodles at the Bellagio together. Jamie and I shared shrimp shumai to start and sweet and spicy noodles and mixed vegetables with garlic sauce for dinner. It was SO delicious. From there we went to our room to have a couple drinks, and then it was off to Pure, the dance club at Caesar's Palace. With 6 good looking women, 1 fine looking gentleman and our name on the guest-list we were in the club in no time. After dancing for a while in a crowded room full of gangstas we found out there was a rooftop area. We were up
there in no time and it was splendid. After enjoying this for a while, taking patron shots with some nice VIPs ,we had had enough and were off to bed (at least Jamie and I were, Evan went out and took a zillion pictures.)
Saturday we laid around for a long while, packed up, moved very slowly down to the pool, gambled a little more and then headed to In-n-out Burger before hitting the road all the way home. 2 double doubles animal style, 1 cheeseburger animal style, 2 plain cheeseburgers, 1 regular fries, 2 animal fries, 3 dr. peppers and 1 chocolate shake later haha we were on the road back to Boulder. 11 hours later -- 6 AM Boulder time, we arrived at home. What a fantastic trip!
