Getting to, and staying in, Las Vegas turned out to be way cheaper than I thought it would be, probably because they want you to spend all your money in the casinos and not on travel. I booked the trip through Expedia and we flew Spirit Airlines so it was very inexpensive. Our flight left O'Hare on time at 9:00 and we arrived in Las Vegas at 11. We used Super Shuttle to get to and from the airport and I would recommend them if going to Vegas.
I chose the Cosmopolitan when I picked our package on Expedia. I had no idea where we should stay, other than the Bellagio was probably not in our budget, and the Cosmo was one of the more inexpensive options. I did upgrade to get a one bedroom with a terrace and I'm so glad I did! You enter the Cosmopolitan by driving along a very shiny underground street and are dropped off in front of some very fancy looking doors. Renee and I were a little worried about how fancy the entrance was, but we later discovered that our jeans and sneakers were perfectly fine. The lady at

Looking up towards our room from the pool. This is the Chelsea tower. the front desk was super nice and she was even able to get us a room right away even though it was only noon. And the room was on the 49th floor! After an ear popping ride in the elevator, we arrived on our floor and entered our room. We were so excited about it we started taking pictures and didn't even take off our coats and backpacks. The room had a nice lounging couch with giant TV, a fancy mini-bar, and probably the nicest hotel bathroom I've ever seen. The toilet was in it's own room, then a double sink vanity with plenty of counter space and then the shower room with soaking tub! The water pressure in the shower was perfect and Renee said the soaking tub was very relaxing. The terrace was just through the bedroom and we had a great view of the south end of the strip with the mountains in the background. The temperature for both days was around 49 degrees, but the sun was so warm that we were actually hot sitting out on the terrace. It was a nice feeling after the -50 in Chicago the week before😊

Living room area over the excitement of the room, we headed back down, crossed Las Vegas Blvd and got some lunch supplies. Ate lunch on our fancy terrace, put on the comfy robes we found in the closet and relaxed for the rest of the afternoon.
The main purpose of the whole trip, Backstreet Boys Larger Than Life! Lucky for us, the concert was right across the street at the Zappos Theater inside Planet Hollywood. We went through the ticket line and the lady said we could get a free upgrade from the guy on the left so we did. Our original seats were in row Y and the new seats were in row F. Much closer with much better views. We wondered what the age range would be and I would say it was maybe late 20s all the way up to grandparents in their 70s as well as at least one service dog that was sitting in our row. And the concert was awesome! I would say the Boys were on stage for over an hour and a half and they did all the big hits as well as one from the new album. What was also nice was each

Fancy shower and soaking tub of them took time to talk to the crowd and thank all the fans. I'm so glad we went!
It was probably 11:30 (1:30 AM our time) when we got back to the room so it was straight to bed as we were exhausted from a long day. Our 90s selves went to bed very satisfied!
