A view from the front yard...
View from the garage on 4-23-06...had been rainy early in the day but interesting clouds in the afternoon...Dunky was enjoying a little napper So, the first picture is from the 23rd of April....we spent that day painting the green wall. Duncan as relegated outside so that we don't have any happy puppy tail swipes through the green paint. We spent that rainy morning/early afternoon at the Carpet Mill Outlet, picking out our carpet. We have a super plush neutral in our master, a nice neutral in the 'baked bean' room, and a nice, dark green in the 'chicory' room. They were having a big sale so we got a good deal. We also bought tile for the guest bath. It's really nice - called 'quartzite' so it looks like stone and even has some sparkle to it. The sparkle is definitely what drew me. We're still debating on our Master bath tile but we're getting closer to narrowing it down!
Thursday, April 27th started our foray into installing Blue Pine ceiling. That first night we only got a few rows done because we didn't have a scaffold yet. But at least we got started. The next day we just did some second coat painting on the hall and painted a closet and then came home early for a break. Saturday morning we were
Blue Pine Begins
And thus our adventure with blue pine ceiling begins. 4-27-06. back at the blue pine. This time we had scaffolding and were able to get several rows up that afternoon. We took off early that evening as well to celebrate our friend Pat's 29th birthday....good times were had by all. Sunday the 30th we really rocked though. We got about 3/4 of the way done with one side and got the other side started. It was a long day and we worked very hard but the results are looking amazing. Really brings the room down...makes it feel more homey. May 1, I had to work late so Bryan wrapped up and went out with our friend John for his 28th birthday. I met up with them later for a few drinks and some great company. Tonight we got 10 more rows finished on the 'living room' side...putting us at about a third of the way through that side. So, it's looking like we should definitely be done this weekend. It's taken longer than we expected but the results will be beautiful. There is such variation in the wood that pictures don't do justice. Some boards look like spotted horses, others like fish and some like the sunset. Some have drastic
Scaffold Set
Scaffold set and we're ready to roll! contrast, some blend gradually from one shade to the next. I'm saving the scraps for craft projects...I'm not sure what all yet but I'm envisioning picture 'frames' and coasters....we'll see!!!
Well, it's late and I need to get my recovery rest. After Sunday's hard work I thought I'd destroyed my right elbow but after a day of recuperation (Mon), it was in great shape again tonight!!!
