And the siding begins...
That's been my motto the last week and a half...just about every day we've put at least a coat of paint somewhere on the house.
Starting on Saturday, April 15, when we had our "Painting Party". Several of our friends came over to help! (we can't thank them enough!) We got the first coat on several rooms this day. And enjoyed the company of good friends, some good food and plenty of laughs.

At the same time as the paint party, Bryan, Mike, Alex and Ernie were putting on the roof. They got the whole thing shingled and now, Bryan just has to put on the vent....now if we can only get a day that's nice and not windy....

Last Friday, April 21, we primed the last wall upstairs and all the walls downstairs. Saturday (4/22) we put a second coat on the yellow in the great room and started putting up some siding. The siding is going to be really cool. 1st four fee will be galvanized, corrugated steel and then the rest will be real wood board and bat - that's where you take 1x12's and space them 3/4 of an inch apart and then stack 1x3's

over the seams. It is really neat. That won't be getting done though until we're moved in. The house is dryed in without it so we'd rather work on that while we're living there.

Sunday, (4/23) it was quite the nasty day...kinda snowy/rainy. So, we went out the the Carpet Mill Outlet because they were having a big sale. We picked out carpet for the 3 bedrooms and tile for the guest bath. The one we got for our master bedroom is extra plushy...really soft, the softest carpet I've ever felt (but still under $2.50/square foot). The others are nice also but at much more of a bargin. The tile is very neat..it has a little bit of a sparkle to it. We still haven't decided on anything for the master bath yet but we'll get there!

Well, it is almost the bewitching hour (12am) and I need to get some rest...have to be strong to slather on a second layer of green tomorrow! Stay tuned....more soon!
