We finished our project yesterday, and three of the couples pulled out, which leaves us on this side of the camp and Willie and Sharon on the other…very weird after having others so close. Clara and Nic left last week to fulfill a family commitment. Everyone else is headed home for at least a month, and we’ll leave Saturday morning to head for Tennessee.
I’ve had quite a reaction to bug bites ever since we arrived…seems that every little bite swells and itches, and then scabs over. The bugs aren’t even that bad, so we can’t figure out where the sores are coming from. Saturday my feet and legs had several new bites, and the itching was nearly unbearable, so Sunday morning we went to the ER in Paw Paw. I felt silly going there to say I had bug bites, but it was that bad. Come to find out, it wasn’t all bug bites, it was compound hives (in bumps rather than a rash.) Remember in Billings when I got stung by the bees? That seems to have put my body into high alert (is that a medical term

and he's pretending to be listening! or a military term?!) and it overreacted to every bite or scratch. The doctor put me on steroids for the swelling and antihistamines for the itching and within a day I was better. I’m putting that high on my
Things Not to Do Again list.
Thanks for the suggestions of the tarp to cover our roof. We had talked about that, but Bob was concerned about mold growing if it was covered. And really the grapes were only half the problem~~it was the 9” of rain that smashedthe grapes, and pounded the juice into the roof. He finished scrubbing it today, and we’re ready for whatever comes next!
