Brimfield: Day 8 - Closing Day: Make It or Break It!

Sunday morning brings a gorgeous day in Brimfield-Land. Sun is shining and the sky stays true blue. We really appreciate this good weather having experienced the worst here in times past: torrential rains, flooding, mud troughs, hurricane-like winds, sweltering temperatures to freezing cold. Been there, done it all. So when the perfect weather arrives and stays, we say "Thank you, Thank you" to the Weather God. Today's selling day is usually based on the concept "get something for nothing". One gal has already come back and said "Is the price any lower today"? Of course, Mr. Give-Away complied. We have to remember what we paid for something to keep it in perspective and the fact that it wasn't previously owned by George Washington and resold to Abe Lincoln. I am going to try something different with today's blog and add a video for your entertainment. Not sure if and how well it will turn out as it's my first attempt at being a video producer. Well, forget that attempt......the travel blog video upload is not working and I couldn't get YouTube to upload it either. So back to the drawing board or wait for the T.B. to fix their glitch. Maybe someday I'll be able to publish it but not today. Rats. But now maybe you'll have something to look forward to anyway. The crowds have straggled in and out. A lot of tires have been kicked. "Everyone's grandma had one of these" becomes the daily jargons. By afternoon, the dark clouds are rolling in and looking rather ominous. We are moving some of our stuff back into the tent. Many of the dealers around us have given up altogether. They have brought their trucks and trailers into the aisle and are packing up. We decided not be as anxious to pack and leave as in years past. We normally work like mad dogs, pack like rabid rats, struggle to get our RV & trailer hooked up and then try and maneuver it out through a narrow, cluttered alley full of vehicles lined up in disarray. This year we are being gentle on ourselves. No rush, no pressure...take it easy. So when the chaos has died down, we shall have our trailer brought up to load and then have it moved to the back field. Tomorrow we will hook it up to the RV and pull out to head home. It's

3:00 PM and now it's our turn to start packing. Our trailer has been brought to our tent. What timing! The Weather God had a change of mind and it has begun to rain. Rats. Better now than during shopping hours. By 6:00 PM, we are packed and back at the RV & just about dead. This is when we question if we are still having fun. The throbbing pain is felt through every muscle of our body. Ooowwwwww. But Cory is looking like Old King Cole counting his money and soon we forget about the pain and start singing a Happy Tune. We actually pulled out a good show from what seemed to be a slow one. Again, Brimfield doesn't disappoint. It still amazes us. So, this ends our saga of the Brimfield Antique Show. We hope you enjoyed attending it along with us. We will stay here tonight and leave in the morning to go home. See you there.
