STUFF...As far as you can see
Have you ever been confined to the public stocks in the middle of a town square? Remember we are in New England. Neither have we but we feel like we have been for weeks after trudging through only a couple fields today. This was our day to shop together. After today, one of us has to stay in our tent....usually me because today is about all I can take (it all starts looking the same when viewed through exhausted eyes). I almost had Cory buy the rickshaw that someone had for sale in order to get me around. That would have been so perfect but we preferred not to make a spectacle. There was a old wheeled stretcher (1930's) that would have worked also...$495! It is just so amazing the amount of stuff for sale here (and that is only on a couple fields so far) and the uniqueness of some of the items. Not to mention the prices, though. Some dealers have "delusions of grandeur" when it comes to marking some of their items. They must think it was originally owned by George Washington and resold to Abe Lincoln. I say to Cory we need to go back to our

tent and remark our stuff...to at least triple our price. Of course, we don't but we should. People must think we are a thrift store compared to the "Neiman Marcus" prices around us. One person had an Italian Gypsy Cart for $22,000. No...we didn't buy it. We found a couple small treasures we bought and hope to flip. In some of my pictures you will see just a small sampling of what we saw today. One booth was all chandeliers, another was imported baskets and junk. One of my favorite places had hundreds of doll character-things created by the woman in the photo....they are something to see. Lulu tried to wiggle her way into some of the snaps. Such a show-off but you already know that. We completed our marathon at the food court located at the front of our field. Beer tent, lobster rolls, fried dough...you name it, it's here. And we wish you all could be here, too. Even if you don't like "old stuff", you would enjoy the festive carney atmosphere. Tomorrow is our big day: opening day on our field....let the selling begin! See you then!
