Star of Oddities TV Show
Evan with Lulu...2 Famous gals Gasp, groan, gurgle.....we have depleted what little energy we had left. This is truly a test of our endurance. I think we failed. Finally, dragging ourselves home, I find I can hardly walk from one end of the motor home to the other and we are only talking 37 feet! We started out kind of spry. I did pop a couple Motrin before heading to the tent because I knew what lay ahead. It was as expected. Hours on our feet, moving, lifting and putting our stuff from one place to another inside our tent. BUT the job is done! Whoopee! Even though we had worn our legs down to the pelvic area, we staggered around an adjacent field to see their lay out. This field is called The Meadows and many of the dealers specialize in huge architectural and industrial items. How they ever haul and unload these monster size items is beyond me....even an airplane was for sale! Their tents are enormous. One had a raised wooden floor. Another really big "tent" had full wooden walls. You really have to see it to believe it. My photos don't even come close to showing you all that is to be Campsite Filling In
That big, 49' foot trailer is next to us. They are from Texas. seen...and this was just on one field. Remember, there are 20 fields. After trudging as far as we could trudge, we made one last effort and crawled along the Main Road to get to our favorite Italian restaurant. Because we don't have our car, we have to walk everywhere. Why I don't return home looking like the poster girl for anorexia - I don't know. The workout we get doing this show is like the workouts on the Biggest Losers TV show but all rolled up into one week. Gasp! Just before the entrance to the restaurant, I just about collapsed. Partly from exhaustion but mostly because I spotted the star of one of our favorite TV show: Oddities... with Evan Michelson...(and Mike Zohn). This is a show filmed in San Francisco & Manhattan and they have a store filled with ghoulish oddities...right up our alley. They sell their unique treasures as well as go on hunts for more one-of-a-kind, wild and crazy gems. If you haven't seen this show: check it out...it is fun. With no hesitation, I approached her (Evan) and asked if she would pose with Lulu. As you see, I got my prize photo! Life is
good! I'll leave it at that....tomorrow is "shop" day. Anything special you want? It's here!
