Packed & Traveling
Lulu is loving it...overnight on Mass.Turnpike Happy Mother's Day to each and every mother we know. May your day be as special as you. Looking good.....we arrived at our destination of Brimfield, Massachusetts this morning. The journey was uneventful ....praises! We stayed last night at the rest area on the Mass.Turnpike. Their McDonald's provided a tasty meal before we settled in amongst the truckers....Wednesday night lobster at the Ale House is just a dream right now. The travel time into Brimfield in the morning is brief. We've parked our trailer and the RV. Our tent is waiting for us. Right now there is a semi- tractor trailer in our tent roadway. Some big time dealer is unloading it of tons of enormous, over sized pieces. Because we didn't do the September show last year (remember our trip West and extended stay at Red Bay....you were there with us) the field promoter relocated us to the other side of our roadway. That's fine...they all look the same. We are still in the same vicinity. However, our neighborhood has changed! This big time dealer with his enormous stuff is new and it looks like he has taken many spots. Our good friend, Brian, has moved to another field. Entering Brimfield
Tent City for miles A long time furniture dealer who was always on our corner has died so we are guessing that new people have moved into his spot. It's too early to tell if these changes are for the better or worse....I'll let you know. This is the first time we have done this show without our trusty, devoted companion, Chip. We had so many rituals we did here with him that his absence is huge. We still miss that dear pup so much. He always acted like he knew he was such an important player in our hobby.....and he was. He was like the Wal-Mart greeter in our tent....everyone loved him.
It took quite awhile before our neighbors finished emptying their semi-tractor trailer....of course it would with that amount of stuff....and Cory thinks we bring a lot! Not even close, Bucky. So we had to just cool our heels before unpacking our trailer. Because the neighbors had to wait for the truck cab to come in and hook up to their monster trailer, our trailer was pulled in behind them which left us a distance away from the front of our tent to haul our stuff. Every inch counts when you Arrived
New England Motel Field are dragging 4,000 items. We are exhausted beyond exhaustion....it is like a full day at a gym, a cardiac stress test and running a marathon - all put together. All the Motrin in the world won't help us now....we are too far gone. Cory thinks drinking Jack Daniel's will help him...so he's celebrating the end of this day with old JD. Me...I just collapse in a heap on our couch. It is so nice to have our RV here with us. We can just crawl from our tent and be "home". Tomorrow is another day. We shall rearrange and try to organize our stuff into some sort of semblance.
Yahoo - there is an aura of excitement in the air. The dealers are moving in, the trucks are being unloaded, the hoops and whoops are echoing throughout the tents. It's SHOWTIME in Brimfield. Be sure to join us for adventure....you will like it.
