Now this one I got a good picture of as he was stopped in front of our viewing stand for quite a while, due to a flat tire on a float ahead of him.

Each float follows the theme of the particular Krewe. Confusing.

note how low the water is. New Orleans is 100 miles up stream from the Gulf. There are no tides. It is just this low because it is winter. Once the snow starts to melt in the far north, this portion of the river will almost be at flood stages.

Our tour guide, Greg, is a native New Orleanean. He belongs to Krewe Carrolton. Their parade was last week. He arranged for the King, Queen, knights and maids to show us their wonderful costumes. Remember, each person must pay for their own costumes.

My RTG peeps will remember some of our gowns looked like these. Large hoops underneath, I checked. The hats are like those of our Dames Parade.
