We started out today with no firm plans, just to make it to Iowa by the end of the day. Before we got on the road, we swung by Falls Park to see the waterfalls of the Big Sioux River. It was such a pretty place. I wish we had something like it near us in Ohio, definitely a great place to just go and sit. After snapping a few pictures, we were back on the road.

We made the mistake of getting some iced coffees this morning, so we ended up needing to stop more than we would have liked in those first couple of hours of driving. Just when we would get going again and we would have to find another stop. We definitely learned our lesson there. =ยท

We decided to head toward Omaha to see if there was anything interesting down there but were sadly disappointed so we just grabbed some lunch and got moving again. We did cross over the Missouri River going into and out of Nebraska as well as a bridge with a very strange design going through Council Bluffs, just outside of Omaha. Nothing too exciting but exciting enough when all you're seeing is field after field. 😊

As we headed east through Iowa we couldn't decide on something to stop and check out, plus there really weren't that many options, so we just kept on going. As we approached Des Moines, we figured that would be a good place to stop since the next closest (big) city was another 2 1/2 hours away. So we grabbed some dinner and settled in for the night. Just enjoying some American Ninja Warrior and the time outside of the car.

Lots of options on the itinerary for tomorrow so should have plenty to see!
