1) I would consider the 2011 heroes a lot more heroic than the past warriors and knights. The 2011 heroes are more heroic because they did not only help one certain person but in many situations they helped a whole population. Also, they would not only affect the people they helped but also they would influence other people to make a difference as well.

2) The person that I would nominate to be hero of 2011 would be Barack Obama. I would nominate him because he is a person who has tried to change the lives of Americans by setting new laws. For example, he tried to pass the Dream Act and his Health Law. These laws were created to help out the people in America and that shows his heroic qualities because he is not only helping and saving many people but he is influencing other people to make a change as well.

3) In history so far, we haven't really studied heroes yet. We mostly talked about people hwo have fought in wars and won wars but those aren't really heroes. Just people who were performing their duty, a hero could simply be a person who developed a unique plan in order to help many people. I think every person has their own view on what a hero is or what a hero needs to have in order be considered one.
