1) The image of O'bama and the rest of his group of people watching/analyzing the mission against Osama Bin Laden was for me the most dramatic image of all 2011. It was for me because it was a mission that millions of Americans have been waiting for since September 11, 2011. Many Americans lost lives during the 911 catastrophe, and Americans wanted Osama Bin Laden captured or death.

The whirlpool that formed off the Japanese coast after the tsunami on March was also one of the most intense images of all 2011. This image was very intense because it showed the power that nature has. I think this image was portraying a meaning, the meaning that man can not defeat nature; therefore, we need to do the best to protect and help nature, not destroy it. A question that arised as I saw this picture was can man ever overcome the power of nature?

The lights that were formed on the World Trade Center on the 10th anniversary of 911 was also a very intense and inspirational image. This image showed how Americans even after 911, we still are strong and do not let terrorist intimidate us. This shows how the twin towers still live inside our hearts and how we will never forget them. Also, it is a very inspirational image because it is an image that honors those people that ided on that date.

The image of a policeman detaining and holding a person's mouth in a horrific way is another very dramatic image of 2011. This image is very dramatic and significant because it shows how the government uses too much power and doesn't control that. Also, it shows how government is starting to be more corrupt as time passes by, and this not only effects America but the whole world.

The image of a U.S. Army soldier that takes a high five with an Afghan boy was also a very intense and significant image of 2011. This image was very significant because it shows how many people in Afghan also look up to us and love what we do. This Afghanistan boy seems to love and like what we do, that is something inspirational because he will grow up understanding our culture and why America does things certain ways.

2) The facebook image can really describe my personality this past year because first of all, I really got into facebook this year more than ever. Also, facebook is a social network site and this year I was more social with a lot of different people. People not only in UICCP but I also met a lot of different students from different schools. I got to meet a lot of people and talked to them throughout 2011 and thats why this facebook image is the image that describes me the most.

3) Images and photos can be a very valuable recource for historians because images can speak a thousand words. A simple text or journal can be translated to different meanins and different languages, and so does an image. An image can mean one thing to one person and something esle to a different person. Different ideas can be combined to one to create one big great idea and that is what historians need in order to undertstand the past.
