A current event that has happened was the kidnapping of three women by a man named Ariel Castro. Castro kept the girl locked in his house for about 10 years. This took place in Cleveland, Ohio. He tortured and kept them tied up using chains and also rape them. When the women got pregnant Castro would kill the babies. However, one of them did have a baby and the other women had to deliver the baby. His house was kept covered up, so that no one could see anything. There was a big fence all around the house to cover up the backyard and he kept the doors and windows sealed. Even though he did all those things his neighbors were still suspicious they had seen women naked crawling in the back yard. One of them reported seeing a little girl there and the police went to his house, but never entered. His friends and family were never able to step foot inside the house because once they got there he was outside waiting for them. It's horrible to know that these women had to go through this and never had an opportunity to escape. The only reason these women were found was because a man named Charles Ramsey. In the front door there was a crack in the door and a girl stuck her hand out calling for help. He tried to open the door for her but he was not able to, so he kicked the bottom of the door and it opened. The women were able to crawl out and call the police.The Human rights that are being violated are:
-Article 5: No one shall be subjected to cruel, inhuman or torture. These women were being tortured and raped. <br style="color:򇨣 font-family: Arial, Helvetica, Verdana, sans-serif; line-height: 20px;" />-Article 3: Everyone has right to liberty, life, and security of person. He was controlling their life and they could not do anything.<br style="color:򇨣 font-family: Arial, Helvetica, Verdana, sans-serif; line-height: 20px;" /><br style="color:򇨣 font-family: Arial, Helvetica, Verdana, sans-serif; line-height: 20px;" />I was sacred that this could actually happen to people. If his neighbors have witnessed strange this happening there why didn't they try harder to see what was going on. It's sad to know that the police were called and never tried checking his house. But thankfully they escaped and Castro is going to go to prison for the rest of his life and these girls are able to be at home with their families. On the other hand, life for these women and the young girl will never be the same. They will be traumatized and will need therapy and the support from their friends and family.
