Hello all. How are all my good and dear friends keeping? I am doing swell thank you, other than the fact that there hasn't been any swell in Maui for like a month, and the only waves i have seen are from people across the street saying hi....Other than that i have had a pretty super week. Our lecturer this week is our base director, Tom. He is a serious legend. He knows almos everything, but is the humblest guy on earth. We learnt a ton. We have two weeks left now. This week the work load in terms of reading has dropped drastically which has been nice. It has given us a chance to breath, and spend more time in thought, prayer, and hanging out with each other. We still have had work, but it ... read more

All i know is, we should legalise bingo to keep Grandma off the streets...anyway... So i really am going to try and keep this one short. I think it's been two weeks since last we spoke. I just want to take this opportunitiy to give a shout out to all of you good people who sent me comment and message on my last blog, it really warmed the heart, and stirred my emotions for back home...i miss you guys. Hello Praisers, Prayers, Party Animals and Party Poopers (I am all of these simultaneously-its really complicated, so complicated in fact that i'm probably just talking rubbish). Anyway enough of that, by "that" i mean pointless sentences that just go on and on and on and on with absolutely no meaning, that take up your time and get you closer to the national average of words read in a lifetime, which i hope isn't a measure of your actual lifespan, because that would mean the more you read the closer you would be to death, which would scare the heck out of me because after the last 3 weeks i would practically be knocking at deaths door (ha you thought that was going to be another one of those sentences that had absolutely no meaning, but instead ... read more

Aha! Finally a moment to spare to update you friendly folk back home as to what i have been up too. I think it will be a fab idea to start off with a fun little story from two weekends ago...It was a dark, windy night(total lie, it was clear and still)(Saturday, by the way), and my school mates and I are on a tretchorous journey to the Great Teacher of the New Age (the cinema), to view the teaching (film) entitled 'Expelled'. On route to the cinema i developed some extreme pain in my abdomin and the nether region (male region). Oops i may have failed to mention that parental guidance is advised for younger viewers...but not really...but maybe...but not so much. Anyway! So on arrival i decide to visit the public loo to check ... read more

Around the World in a Day Hello my omegoes and compadriades(i think i just made this word up....or it's mexican) So i have been gone for about two weeks now and thought it ripe time to be letting you know what is happening on this side of the world. Well America is in the worst economic state its been in for a while, 75% of America hates Busch and everyone wishes there was more choice in voting when it comes to their elections in a few months. Other than that, everything is great. Anyway onto more pressing matters....me:) So as you know i was able to spend a few days in Florida on the way to hawaii! Boy was that a good idea! I was able to just chill out a bit after a very hectic ... read more

Maui 02nd Nov 2007. The Killer (Haleakala) Woke up in Agony. Ankle reall really swollen and very sore. SHIT! Will be reallt gutted if i dont or cant do this hike as im sure it will be spectacular. Hobbled to the shop for water and try to gt some movement in the ankle. Not looking good as i continue to struggle. Went to the kitchen for breakfast and met Kathy and Becky - 2 canadian girls who turn out to be the funniest craziest & loudest girls ive ever met. Was about to pull out of the tour but thought what the hell - if i dont do it now ill never probably do it. Fingers crossed i wont breakdown 1/2 way around and have to be carried and airlifted back. Called off at supermarket ... read more

Maui, Hawaii. 02nd Nov 2007 The start of the best week ever! Ankles very very sore!!! Not sure what ive done to them! Did i fall when ive been pissed? Fist noticed it last night in Waikiki! Flight over to Maui was spectaclar flying over all the volcano's and rain forests. Got a taxi to Banana Bungalow Wailuku. Arrived and thought the hostel looks like a big giant garden shed. From the outside Very rustric and very basic. Much the same inside. Room 11, tiny 4 bed dorm full of white dust everywhere..apparently is prevents bed bugs...nice! Got shown around by Dana (very fit receptionist! lol) Very hungry. Recommended to go to Chucks Tacho place in the town. Spent the whole afternoon there eating tachos (best in the world for $4) and drinking corona with ... read more

Hello little shrub faires and tree elves! Sorry i have been spending too much time with the hippies in Paia(the little and nearest town 7 minutes from the base). On the "Welcome to Paia" sign coming into Paia it says, and i quote, "Don't feed the Hippies." Very funny. I haven't. Scared they might bite. Apparently there is some crystal under the earth there which helps them pull themselves towards themselves or keeps them regular or something and they all flock!!! So it can be fun going in to town and watching them all strung out on something. Actually its rather sad. They're all in so much bondage. There is this one guy that has literally thick chains around is neck with locks. He talks to himself. I want to talk to him, but will ... read more

Hello All So i know you are all chomping your finger nails in anticipation of my next travel blog, to hear of my heroic adventures in the land of preservative full/precooked/prepacked/presugared/presyruped/carbohydrated/calorie infused peanut butter everything. Just thought i'd let you know i've only put on 200 pounds which is equal to the total mass of all rock mined on earth since....... the beginning. Just kidding, i don't think i've put on any weight. Not sure about the 200 pounds being equal to the total mass of all rock mined on earth since....... the beginning, will look into it though, actually probably won't. Anyway will try keep this short as to keep you interested. So this last week has been pretty hectic with busyness(not business). So didn't really get off base as much. So the first ... read more

We are still in port. We spent the day on board by the pool. We had far too many fancy rum drinks with umbrellas in them last night! It seemed perfect. Last night we went to the Pacific Paradise Luau! And it was perfect. We were treated to wonderful live Hawaiian music and Hula dancing celbrating the spirit of Aloha and the Hawaiian people. The food was great and there was lots of it. There was an open bar with more Mitais and Blue Hawaiian drinks than you can imagine. It is amazing to see how only a few Blue Hawaiian make you want to show the world your hula spirit. It is little wonder that Captain Cook’s crew members were eager to spend time ashore on the island of Maui. Our plans to visit Lahina ... read more
