Sunset through palmsSunset through palmsSunset through palms

Taken just after the sunset. Mark - here's the famous "sun through the trees". It's new moon tonight :\ i'm working on it.
I've got quite a bit of material tonight... but for real guys, it's not so exciting in writing. In my short time here so far, i've experienced things i couldn't even imagine - i didnt know i was missing out because i honestly didn't what i was missing. We drove about 15 minutes down the road to Mauna Lani (?) beach to see the sunset. I'll tell ya, i absolutely fell in love with this beach... the grass is so soft and green and scattered with palm trees... it opens up into sugar soft white sand enclosed in naturally placed stone walls and slowly disappears into the crystal clear, sparkling ocean. We walked across the shore (only ankles dad 😉 and noticed a huge turtle bathing in the sun... i honestly thought he was dead, but he blinked or something so i decided he merited a picture 😊 The sun was setting quickly, so we climbed up the ramp and went through the golf course to get an uninhibited view of the sunset. My pictures can't describe what it was like, it was this perfect painting that changed ever so slightly every few seconds. I've seen the same exact sun go

And one you didn't even request - sailboat through the rox!
down every day of my life right? I dunno, it just looked huuuge and it lit the entire sky on fire with the most vivid reds and oranges... a sailboat glided by as the sun began to sink... what a picture, huh? I swear you're gonna think i'm lying when i post the pictures, but i thought it was the coolest thing. Then around 7 we went to a nearby Thai restaurant. Authentic Hawaiian food experience #2, right? lol. It was wonderful - it's been a long time since i've had Thai. When we got back to the house we noticed that every cloud had disappeared and the stars were amazing... so Dave suggests we drive to Waikoloa on a low-traveled country road to see the stars. So we all get back in the car and drive 10 minutes or so. Yall are gonna think ive never seen the outdoors in my life or something, but for real, i've never seen anything like this. There's no moon tonight, and no city lights for miles. When we got out of the car, all u could see was streaks of white scattered by the most luminescant sparkling stars. I promise i've never

seen sooo many stars - they stretched from horizon to horizon. Every now and then, one would take off and streak across the sky. It's something, i admit, i take for granted back home... there's just something about vacation that almost forces you to stop and enjoy what's around you. And how much easier without city lights right? Gah, it was so cool. They said if i'm up for waking up at like 3am, we can go to the top of one of the mountains - the most promising view of the stars, and wait for sunrise. I've heard it's quite an experience if you can stay awake. Worth it? 😊

Tomorrow i'm sleeping in. From then on, i have no idea. I'll write again soon. Hope all is well! Good night! ~Fran... BTW picture's are up now
