We arrived at our destination of Fort Myers Florida at 4 o'clock, after a good day on the water, in spite of the gloomy weather forecast.

After a night of squalls and heavy rain, the skies were still laden with ominous clouds but we were anxious to get going so we left anyways. We had an extra long delay at the Boca Grande swing bridge due to construction. I was concerned about crossing Charlotte Harbor but other than some large swells at the pass, it was fairly calm. One wind squall came up but did not produce any rain and no great winds as expected.

It was a long trip partly because we didn't stop very often. The boat worked really well, no serious mishaps, just short periods of adverse conditions.

I am glad to be on land but I know that restless stirring will be upon us soon and we will need a new adventure.

Perhaps you will join us in November as we fly to Panama in Central America and explore that country by land.
