All Aboard
Good morning, everyone! Hope your day is a cheerful one. My blogs are getting and going to be mixed up for awhile just because that is kind of like me anyway (along with disorganization). So don't look for accuracy in the timeframe and dates. In the meantime, please just buckle up and go with the flow....

ALL ABOARD! Today (on this blog) we are riding an Iron Horse on its Metal Rails to the Winter Park Art Show. Yippee. Just like Sheldon Cooper (Big Bang Theory), we love trains! This covers two of our items in one on our bucket list for this year. Last year, we were only able to take a brief tour of the SunRail train but this year, it is now in operation. You can ride it from DeBary in the North to Sand Lake Road in the South (that's our area)....approximately an hour ride. Eventually, it will go much further....they say to New Orleans. No breath holding recommended. This weekend the fee (which is cheap $2.00 plus a $1.00 for each county crossed) was free because of the famous Art Show in Winter Park. We (Cory, Sandy & me.....Sam chose to got to Harbor Freight

and Mt. Dora.....no idea what he was missing....start licking your wounds now, Mr. Sam) used the GPS to find our way to the depot.....once there, Cory knew the area and a much easier to get there for the future. We arrived just as the train was ready to depart so found ourselves standing in a massive crowd.....no thought for a seat! Lulu had to ride in her bag. No room to even emerge...but she struggled and carried on until she launched herself onto the window sill. She is too pushy sometimes. Sandy & I found the staircase so we rode the train sitting on the metal stairs - better that the metal rails. The train has 3 levels. Better than standing up for the half hour ride to Winter Park. So many, many people jammed this train because it was FREE and because of the Art Show event and because it was on the weekend. The train normally runs just M-F. Later, in the newspaper, it stated 26,000 rode the train (3 of them) on the weekend ...compared to @ 3,400 on a weekday. Sometimes this train even sailed past some stops because there was not enough room to board

anymore people. Toot - Toot. When we were leaving, the train going Northbound broke down causing hours and hours of waiting for the masses. Our train was okay (whew) but we still waited a long time cause this time our goal was to get a seat on this Iron Horse! One woman collapsed from the heat but she and her husband lugged and dragged her onto the train...no way were they not getting on board.

Once we arrived at Winter Park...we left one crowd to enter into another. Thousands and thousands of people attend this show. The Works of Art are magnificent but pricey. We wandered around ... Sandy picking out gowns to wear for an upcoming Appreciation PROM Party at Tropical Palms. Lulu wanted none of that....she wants to get married! Thankfully, the wedding gown was too big.....much too long! We ate at a favorite restaurant called Burgerfi. Great onion rings! Sandy and Cory visited the Geico booth. Fortunately, Sandy agreed to pose with Lulu cause Cory ended up with the Geico pig! Lulu was jealous. As planned, when we left, we did get a seat on this well enjoyed train. It seemed like a million passengers were

enjoying it right along with us. The wait was long but it was worth it in the end. BUT next year.....we'll just ride it on a weekday, pay the small fee and take it the entire length and back. Whoooo- Whoooo. Hope you liked the ride....forget the wait. How long has it been since you rode a train? It's been years for us. Thinking of you and Sheldon Cooper on the entire ride.
