My house is secure, my car is cleaned and packed and I am ready to roll out for my Excellent Summer Adventure. I am so excited! I love to travel and this trip will be about places I'll visit, but more importantly about reconnecting with family and friends. First stop today is with my nephew, Kyle and his fiancé, Rebecca here in beautiful Savannah, GA. Didn't get any time to explore Savannah this trip, but last fall when I was here for a few days, I got to see a lot of the city. Last weekend we went up to the next small city about 30 minutes north of here called Sebastian. They always have something going on there in Riverside Park. Where Vero Beach will have an art show, they have a clam bake. Vero Beach has live theatre; they have the local school jazz band. Not that there's anything wrong with an art show (lol!). It's just fun to have the option of different things. The events there always attract lots of people, and lots of them are snowbirds like us. Traveling is magic. It was on a trip in 2000 that I met Mike Beck. His version is that he fished me out of the river, I say he rescued me. Both are true. We were on a private Grand Canyon River Trip both rowing support for a kayak club, I crashed because I don't take the easy route- he plucked me out of the cold water. We got to know each other and began our love affair. Sept 9 2014 we celebrated 11 years of wedded "bliss"- mostly bliss, some not so fun times but mostly bliss.
