Family Gathering Spot
Got your hiking shoes on and ticket in hand? Great. We are off again to visit that amazing park called Universal Studios. This time our family is with us to enjoy the sights. So, you may have to get your transportation. Looks like a perfect day: Sunny with temperature just perfect: not too cold; not too hot; just right…..as Goldilocks would say. Not sure what the crowds will be like, through….remember, it's Easter Break. There will be one less ticket holder: Lulu is staying home. Her head has put on weight with all this eating out. I lean like a mountain goat carrying her around in her sling bag. Instead, I filled my bag with various drinks and snacks. Universal Studios must think we are all relatives of Queen Elizabeth ( HRH Got-Rocks) with their ridiculous prices for their humdrum treats. Cory went to lift my bag for me and nearly fell over. "What the H__ is in here?" he politely yelled. It did seem like I had the RV diesel engine in it....a tad heavy even for my standards. Suck it up.....just dole out the $$ even though it is just a big, fat ripoff. "LET IT GO, LET IT

GO". I truly hate ripoffs, though. The ultimate in price gouging is at all these big time parks.

Unfortunately, Jim learned this morning his step-father had died (in PA.). Jim had been down to be with his mother and Freddy several times recently as he knew the prognosis was terminal. Arrangements were already made. Jim will go to PA. once he gets home this Friday. Our sympathy & thoughts are with Kay and her family.

Our clan decided to meet up at Bubba Gump (on City Walk) once inside the grounds. Then the big separation occurs. The “youngsters” fly off to experience this world of breath-taking rides and sights beyond one’s wildest imagination. The rest of us begin our slower navigation into this magical world. Of course, the new Harry Potter section was top on the list since our family had not seen it. We remarked that the crowds didn't seem massive……well, there are millions of people there but they have a huge area to spread out. I figured they were all in some line trying to get on a ride. We arrived at Hogsmeade and quickly (amazing) boarded the Hogswart Express. This special train took us to

the streets of London and into Diagon Alley. Fortunately, Mike & MJ had taught us some of the tricks within this overwhelming locale. Of course, my only mission is to get my Butter Beer….mission accomplished!

Lunchtime required the tedious texting on all our phones in order to bring everyone together. Mission accomplished! Separation occurred right after this brief gathering.

We strolled along the streets of San Francisco and into New York City. Our first stopping off spot was Finnigan’s Bar & Grille. This is where Cory and I always hang out for hours waiting for the Mardi Gras Parade on Saturday nights. It's more festive hanging out there with family. The guys were able to wet their whistles. They liked that.

Lory wanted to take the Hogwarts train back to Hogsmeade so Cory and I went with her. The crowds had also decided to take the train at the same time we did. The rest of our group hoofed it over to our other favorite watering hole: the Backwater Bar. Here, we people-watched and wet our whistles again. Eventually, we were able to round up the remainder of our “boat family.” Decisions were made as to who

wanted to leave and who wanted to stay. The Knapp’s were the diehard holdouts…..strength and stamina. I did my usual drag and sit routine to exit this fun but exhausting playground. Our tickets and passes allowed us to do both parks so we are talking marathon merriment.

A wonderful day with our wonderful family.

We hope you get rested up now. Not sure what's next on the dance card but whatever it is, we’ll be having a good time together. See you!
