Here I am at Cafe TuTu Tango. Good Morning!
It is Monday and since I didn't get a chance to write yesterday I will fill you in.
The day was pretty laid back and peaceful. The weather was gorgeous (low 80's and lots of sunshine). Ape and I did lots of work, checked out of The Portofino, and then went out for lunch. We had seen a segment about Cafe TuTu Tango on Rachel Ray's $40 A Day and the place looked awesome. We were a bit hesitant at first because for some reason we thought it would be Spanish foods, but we decided to give it a try...boy am I glad we did! This place is awesome! It is like an artist loft! There is a very cool bar, lots of white twinkling lights, local artists work hanging on the walls and ceiling, an artist painting while you are there, lots of funky colored tables, and the waitress said at night there is Flamenco dancing, belly dancing, and live acoustic music!! As if that wasn't good enough --- the food was delicious. Cafe TuTu Tango is a "tapas" style restaurant. You order 4-5 different appetizers and share them with each other. April and I ordered

Cafe TuTu Tango Cajun chicken rolls, teriyaki glazed beef, some sort of chicken skewer thingy and spicy green beans! Mmmm.mmmmm....delicious. I was full after my first Cajun roll so I didn't really eat anything else....but it SMELT good and Ape said it was....lol...so it must've been good. I did have one of the teriyaki things later at our hotel. Also, one thing I thought was funny -- out of all the seats in entire restaurant I could've been seated at, I was seated next to a drawing of Billy Bob Thornton. I didn't even notice until midway through lunch. I don't know why, but I am a huge fan of his. He makes me laugh. He is just so real and cool in a southern, honky tonk, country bumpkin sort of way. So I was very happy to be near the very cool drawing. I am sure my friend Freddy could've done an even better job!! 😊
After lunch it was time to check into The Royal Pacific Resort. This is my FAVORITE (although Portofino is close) of all three of the onsite Universal hotels. It iq so laid back and tropical and gorgeous. I love the whole South Pacific theme it

Billy Bob and I had lunch together! :) has. Anyway, at check-in we, of course, asked if we could be upgraded because of our platinum loews membership status, and guess what? WE WERE!!!! They upgraded us to a king bed suite. The room is gorgeous! It has a cool living room area with TV/DVD player & surround sound as well as a sleeper sofa and work desk. The other room has a king bed, lounge chair, work table, tv, mini-bar, coffee maker and huge walk in closet. It usually goes for close to $400 per night, but we got the special travel agent rate of $109 per night!! Hellooooooooo baby! As like every upgrade April and I get, we run around (OK, walk fast) the room and high five each other -- SCORE! We never take for granted how lucky we are.
After settling in, we did some work and decided to go to CityWalk for the evening. We used valet at CityWalk because it was free after 6pm (well, minus tip). For a Sunday night, around 9pm, the place was jumpin! Tons of people were out. There was live music coming out of all the restaurants. Bob Marley's Jamaican Restaurant, Pat O'Brians New Orleans Restaurant, The

Inside of Cafe TuTu Tango! Latin Quarter Restaurant and our personal favorite --- Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville!!! Oh yeeeeah. As an on-site hotel guest we get priority seating. We just show them our room key and we get the next available table. Our wait was less than 5 minutes. The cool thing was, at 10pm, there was a band coming on. The Lenord Brothers (sp?). They were a cool group with a cute pair of twin brothers. They played a great mix of southern rock, soft rock and alternative rock. Everything from Dave Matthews, Paul Simon, Dooby Brothers, The Beatles and Jimmy of course. They harmonized beautifully. With all the excitement and smell of cheeseburgers in the air, the stained sock puppet wanted in on the action so he made several appearances throughout the night. He was sloshed by the time we left (11pm). By the way, the stained sock puppet is stained because of a cookie accident he had not too long ago. It changed ALL our lives forever. We have made peace with it and sock puppet has actually come to love his stains. He is a happy (and currently drunk) sock puppet.
We were going to go to a late movie, we

April at Cafe TuTu Tango were in line and everything, but April's "free tickets" had expired so we decided to wait until tomorrow (today) to see House Of Wax or whatever. Why pay full price when you can pay less at an earlier show? 😊
Back at the room we did some more work and then went to bed.
I am not sure what we are doing today -- but stay tuned! 😊
Til then...
Happy Travels!
