Time to renew our annual pass for Universal Studios so we headed off to the park. It never seems to get old.....always exciting and fun. Lulu stayed home - the bag check line gets awkward: "what do you mean you have a head in your bag?" The line to renew our passes was too long so we just went on into the park. Our passes are still good for a couple more weeks. My main goal, once in the park, is to head to the Harry Potter area for Butter Beer. Ooooooo, so good! It's like cream soda on steroids. To die for....After slowly sipping the beer (non-alcoholic) to make it last as long as possible, we made the lenghty trek around the park ending up at one of our favorite watering spots: the Backwater Bar. There we can sit, rest and people watch. Once rested and watered, we headed to the City Walk (restaurant area). For something different to do, we boarded one of their water taxi boats which transports the people from the 3 big hotels to and from the park. This boat took us to their Portofino Hotel which is ultra luxurious. We lounged around in their plush lobby and drank their wonderful tasty lemonade set out for their guests. We felt like welcome guests. I am sure they were saying "Benvenuto" to us. Just like being an Italian tourist. The Captain of the boat had approached Cory when we first boarded (uh-oh, we thought). He noted Cory's Wellsville T-shirt. The Captain was originally from Springville, NY....a retired surgeon at the Bertram-Chaffee Hospital in Springville. So, at each boat stop, we had a nice, reminiscing visit with him while the rest of the passengers glared impatiently (understandable). Get this boat sailing their eyes said!...I think they wanted us to walk the plank.
Next stop in Orlando: Disney Village. Here you find numerous Disney shops and restaurants. We heard about the delicious tuna melt sandwich (one of my favorites) served at the Earl of Sandwich restaurant. Right on the money....it was scrumptious. Another "To die for".....Cory had his favorite: BLT. Superb! We wandered around the village until we landed at an Irish Pub for some Irish Coffee. It was too strong for me but the atmosphere was delightful. They had Irish dancers performing. A toe tapping time to tuck in our memory box. "Like Butter Beer Keg
Full of a Delicious Beverage the warmth of the sun and the light of the day, may the luck of the Irish shine bright on your way".
