On the move again. Monday was relocation day for the Knapps. They moved from Royal Oaks over to our Marriott timeshare called Cypress Harbour. We bought it pre-construction years and years ago. It still remains in perfect condition. Of course, with the costly maintenance fee, it should.
Before they could check in, we had lunch at Bar Harbor. As usual, it was delicious. The girls aren't fond of seafood so Cory made a stop at Burger King to get them their lunch. Different tastes for different people.
Prior to lunch, we made a quick stop at Costco's. We are going to miss this convenience of "running across town" to go there once we get home. Our only Costco's is located in Rochester, NY (a good 1 1/2 hour away). Rats! Only other Costco in NY is in New York City so I better not complain....but moan & groan.
After lunch, we went to the mega Ikea store. They had never been in Ikea before. If nothing else, you get a lot of exercise trolling this big store. Two levels of good stuff. Whew! Lots to see with a lot of walking. Cypress Harbour called when we were checking
out to say their place was ready....good timing.
Cory drove all of us there and went with Jay to check in. First, they assigned them a condo way in the middle of the complex. It was a great distance away from the lobby and big pool. That's not going to work! Cory had put in the reservation back in June so after some further discussion, they were relocated to a closer condo as originally requested. Remember: never take "No" for an answer. Ask for the supervisor when getting a negative response. Just a suggestion.
The condo looked good....as always. Had the most up to date furnishings in it. Jay & Lory came back with us to Tropical Palms to get their car and stuff. Then, back to the condo where they settled in. Always a good feeling when back in Cypress Harbour. They sold the golf course that surrounded most of the timeshare property. A sad day in Mudville. Apartment condos are now being built on the old golf course so Cypress Harbour is mostly surrounded on one side by huge buildings separated only by a stone wall. It doesn't really affect the environment of our place because
there are so many big trees and bushes, flowers, etc. that makes it still so beautiful. Amazing to us the amount of construction that is always going on here in Florida...it never ends. It's a big deal at home just to see someone adding a deck to the house.
Yesterday, Cory & Jay played golf at Cory's favorite course: Falcon's Fire. It's located quite close to our RV park. They ended up playing with 2 other men....who happened to be from Tropical Palms. Small World stuff again. They had a good time. Cory said he really liked his new golf club and said it worked well for him. Yay!
Back at the ranch....Lory and I went to the pool at Cypress Harbour. The girls wandered around the grounds.....doing their own thing. In the pool, they had an instructor doing aquacize (sp). Lory and I joined in. I stopped after a 1/2 hour and Lory continued on until the end (45 minutes). They had a swimming pool guard by the pool. A sign said if you aren't using your lounge after 45 minutes, your towel, etc. can be retrieved at the front desk. Ours were never touched even when
we took a hike around the grounds. Back when, we bought our daughters towels that read in big letters: RESERVED. Maybe that helped! It was a HOT sun.....almost a welcoming gift when a few clouds passed over.
Mid afternoon, we called it quits and went back to the condo. Ahhhhhh - so relaxing. Spaghetti and meatballs were the choice for dinner. Easy to fix and good to eat. Cory & I stayed long enough to digest this Italian delight and then headed back to our RV.
Impatiently I waited for Cory to unlock the RV door.....toe-tapping and groaning. My toes were now tapping as fast as in "Riverdance". Geeze....what's taking so long??The answer: he can't find the keys. OMG! Seems like we've been through this exercise before. Moan! Fortunately, we have a hidden back up key so we could get inside the RV and end my constant toe-tapping. But where are those keys? Cory scours the car....nothing, zip, nada. Jeepers. Cory stops and ponders this predicament. Yes - he figures out where they must be. When at the golf course, he used valet service. The valet must have taken our car key bobbin on a lanyard as well
as our RV keys on another lanyard (that was under the drivers seat). He called the place but it was closed for the night. He left a message.
This morning, the guy at Falcon's Fire returned his call. Yes, they had our keys. Whew! Cory drive over there and retrieved them. Good! The employee wanted details so he could figure out just what happened. Cory said he reminded him of Sheldon Cooper (BBT). Cory was just glad to get our keys and bid him adieu. Crisis over......yippee!
The Knapps are on their own for the day. We will be meeting them later for dinner at Cheddars. Turn your metabolism up so you have a hearty appetite. They have onion rings there that are to die for. Pick you up in a little.........
