Paul & Clare Higgins
Rented this 2016 Red Corvette Convertible Gather around, family and friends. We have some big time catching up to do. I found that I couldn't multi-task. I used to be very good at it when I worked but retirement has changed that. No pressure, no time management, nothing! So being able to write these blogs after we experienced and performed all that they involved, my wish and desire just didn't happened. My fingers were far too limp and weak to type out my long, descriptive verbiage. My eyes were shut like they were zippered....like tiny sleeping bags. I was in an" out of body" state. Actually, now that I think about it, I probably could have used the microphone and recorded all out busy work verbally. But when I get tired, I get quiet. I can guess some are wishing I would be exhausted 24/7. I bet you were wondering what happened to us? Maybe you were thinking we had been kidnapped and shipped off to a barren island with the only way to escape was to swim. Lucky Lulu's head can float so she could make it easily ....me: I'm only able to float on my back and dog paddle pretty much.....I'm sure Cory, Paul &
Clare could fly across the rippling waters with no issues. They are pretty skillful and athletic people....not me as you can tell. I'm just grateful that wasn't the scenario. Can you just imagine that blog?
What we have been doing has been the tourist thing with Paul & Clare. They said they wanted to do what "snowbirds" do. That's easy.....we have done a lot of that. But we really have to do more then just eat, drink and be merry. Paul would be up and ready for Cory in the early morning to go on a substantial walk.....over to Publix in the Celebration lot. I continue to sleep while Clare works around in our kitchen area and gets herself a cup of coffee. They are easy company. We don't have to wait on them. They're family. Yippee! I hope our schedule coincides with yours somewhat so we all keep up together...no stragglers. On their walk, Cory & Paul picked up the big powerball tickets (move ahead in time: obviously, we didn't win....rats....and we were going to share it all with ALL of you....too bad for all of us ).
First, we toured the grounds here at Tropical Palms.....you
need to be familiar with your surroundings! you know. We took a drive over to our Timeshare: Cypress Harbour (near SeaWorld) and walked around the main lobby and pool area. Next, we drove down International Drive. It is here were the huge Convention Center is located. Also the mega hotels, restaurants, gift shops, tourist attractions, etc. We ended up at the end of I-Drive where there is a huge building called Artegon. There's a Bass Outlet, Ron-Jon and movie theater next to it. This building was recently converted into a very spacious location for various artists and crafters. They each have a small booth to display and sell their wares. They have wonderful, unique items. If you get tired, you can rent a big stuffed, battery powered animal to actually ride around on in this delightful mall. $10.00/15 minutes. Lulu loved it! Of course, she selected a cow. That little milkmaid, herself! Which would you pick?
Needed to be back to the RV by 4:00 (Senior Snowbird Time) as we were all going to the Ale House with Sam & Sandy .....remember, it's Wednesday night....Lobster time! Yummy and drool. The Ale House didn't disappoint. Sandy, Paul, Clare and myself
At Cypress Harbour
Cory, Clare, Lulu & Paul all had the lobster. Hmmmm......so good! The food and the company! We all came back to our RV for an evening of laughter and chatter. Sam shared some of his fascinating stories he's experienced in his lifetime. Such a great storyteller.....puts Uncle Remus to shame. He's a living blog.
Jet lag was taking its toll on Paul and Clare. They stayed strong but they didn't fight the suggestion of calling it a night. They are sleeping on our queen-size, blow up mattress, pull out couch. They said they slept well on it but they are very easy going people and never complain. They were probably too tired know anyway. They could have slept on our dash and would have liked it.
So, dear family & friends, now that we are back on board, it's time to get these blogs out. Today's blog actually occurred on Wednesday, January 13th. I'll try and keep things in order but there's no guarantee. No warranty work here. We hope you have had a good, little rest from my gibberish ..... But "I'm back!" Get comfy, again.
Remember to scroll all the way to bottom of page...I have 9 photos on here.
