Super Bowl Pay Up
Dinner for us at Manny's.....sponsored by the Foreman's. Go Seahawks! Where HAVE we been?? Since returning to the real world, it's been taking some time to adjust to cooking, bed making, etc. again. I'm exhausted! I want Jose and Bernardo back!! "WaWa" (me, crying....also the name of a big gas station down here). We haven't let our schedule lull, however. Fortunately, I continue to maintain my little diary as reference so I can catch you up on all our doings. Luckeeeee. I know you have all been holding your breath for this so now, go ahead....breathe. Our first full day back from the cruise was Super Bowl Sunday. Sam & Cory made their annual team winning bet. Oh lucky day; a super day it was.....Cory's team won so Sam & Sandy had to suffer the consequence. The bet was: if Sam's team (Bronco's) won, we would take them to dinner at Cherry Pocket. If Cory's team (Seattle) won, they had to take us to dinner at Manny's Steakhouse. Yum Yum. Our meal at Manny's was sumptuous. Sandy hopes Sam has better luck next year....we don't. We are enjoying these free dinners ALOT. Big time betting continued at our RV park. One of the residents organized a video horse-racing event here. It Night at the Horse Races
Betting and Winning....some win, some don't but all had fun. was a fun filled evening for all. Play money was used to bet on our horses and later, the winnings were turned into tickets. These tickets were used as chances for various gifts. We didn't win on the horses (giddy-up....not) but, yahoo, I won 2 dinners at the Golden Corral so some evening, we will be dining at the "trough." -- Yum, Yum. The park also provided a wonderful Valentine's Day Party. Lasagna was the menu, an excellent singer was the entertainment. Sweets for the Sweet! Moving along --- we had a moment of stressful excitement one morning. Our daughter, Lory, had gone to our house in Shongo to check on everything. She found water on our cellar floor. One of the pipes in the ceiling was spewing water all over. She called us and asked me where to turn off the water. That's like asking a stone. Cory was nowhere to be found as I ran like a wild stallion through the park, shouting loudly "Coreeeeeeee" --- nothing, no Cory. I ran to Sam's RV seeking his advice. He told Lory to find a blue tank but she said we didn't have a blue tank. Later on, we realized
we did but Cory had it all wrapped in insulation so she couldn't tell it was a blue tank. In the meantime, our son-in- law, Jay, had arrived on the scene with a serviceman and got the problem fixed. The line to our ice maker had broken. We are so fortunate to have them watching over things in our absence. It's bad enough they have had to contend with the wicked winter weather but to add icey water to the mix.....not nice. Merci beaucoup, Lory & Jay. Our annual passes to Universal Studios needed renewal so off we went to that wonderful amusement park. Passes updated, we were on our ritual run for Harry Potter's Butter Beer. Yum, Yum....just as delicious as ever. They are making a new, much larger and separate Harry Potter Park which will open sometime this summer. It is supposed to look like the city of London and if I read the info right, you will take a train ride to get into it. I hope this doesn't complicate my butter beer acquisition. We'll get that answer next year. Pray that my butter beer doesn't get compromised. This Saturday, we are going back to Universal to
Universal Studios
Butter Beer to real beer watch the annual (and every Saturday) Mardi Gras parade. This will be the first one we've gone to this year. Following the parade is a free concert. We plan to attend because the singer is Robin Thicke and I like that tune: Blurred Lines....not so much the words; just the tune. We've stayed faithful to the various Flea Markets. We went to the one in Deland but found it pretty junky. May not stay faithful to it anymore. Today, we went back to Webster as it was one of their "bigger" days (not that it's not already plenty big). We walked probably 200 miles and only bought a couple items. I know we are pickier now but the "stuff" is just not all that exciting. This past Saturday, we went to the Mt. Dora Antique Extravaganza and walked another 200 miles (half on a hillside...you need to be part mountain goat to love it). Not many purchases again but Big Lulu had some good photo shots. Sam & Sandy's daughter and son-in-law have come for a visit. They love antiquing so Sam is in his glory. We all went to Cherry Pocket for our grouper-fill. Yum, Yum....the fish was delish!
Lulu Poses
Loving Owls & Spiderman This place draws folks from far & near. It is super busy! It is still unique and primitive with its decor so you have to believe they don't put their profits in redecorating as your eyes scan the walls & ceiling. Makes the event ever more festive and fun! I feel right at home! Speaking of home, I have struggled with our RV bed....missing our comfy bed at home (plus the heavenly bed on the cruise). I would not recommend a sleep-number bed to anyone. My side of the bed has been like a hammock.....while Cory has been sleeping way above me on a high ledge. So, we bought another gel-foam, pillow top mattress topper (we already had one (but just foam) on the crazy bed). We put it on top of the sleep number mattress and the other foam topper (because we have no place to store it). We are now really talking and living "The Princess and The Pea". Our faces are a little flattened since we are now sleeping on mile-high bedding that reaches almost to the ceiling. But.....it is comfy and heavenly. Ahhhhhh. No interesting towel critters left on our bed each night (no room for
Riding....
The Wave & The Fancy Bike them anyway) but it is all good.....finally. So - Good night...one and all!
