Our new Mecca!
Zooooom. That was the top speed taken on Saturday as the diligent duo team flew off for a new prize. While crawling through the big RV show last week, both the Foreman's (Sam & Sandy) and us found a booth selling membership to the mega, wholesale box store: Costco. We had never had an interest because the only Costco stores in New York are located in New York City. However, the rumored report is that they are building one in Rochester.....oh, lucky day! So meet the new Costco members! It was really a no-brainer. The cost of membership is $55...... completely refundable at anytime we don't want it! They also gave us a $10 gift card, a huge, insulated tote, a cookbook, many coupons, and a cover for my Ipad. On top of that, while signing up, we ate a half jar of chocolate covered almonds......Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus! Lulu insisted on joining us as we wallowed through this shopper's delight. It was so big and so busy. We bought a few treats but will need to return shortly to figure the best way to get around this vast expanse. We may have to use our GPS on

the shopping cart. They even sell toilets, kitchen sinks and cars! Now to the opposite extreme. "The Early Bird Gets the Worm" --- well, we should get the worm, the caterpillar, the pupa, the chrysalis.....all of it! Today, we bounced out of bed (NOT) at 4:15 AM and sped off down the road to set up and sell our few wares at the mega Flea Market in Webster, Florida. Lulu rolled from her ledge and made her way to the car with us. No way was she going to miss out on the action. It was cold (34 degrees) and so foggy (pea soup). We arrived @ 6:00 AM (still dark) and the big field (the West Side is the Best Side) was full! Martin Luther King Day & President's Day are the 2 BIG days at Webster. Every Monday, there is a Flea Market but these two days are the ones that bring ALL the dealers and crowds. So, we were assigned to the way back field across the street. Fortunately, this back field filled up with many dealers so the crowds make their way over to us.....plus they know we are the "new kids on the block" with

fresh stuff....vs the regulars who bring their same old stuff week after week. We had a great day. It's not like Brimfield because the most expensive item we had was $10....kind of like nickel/dime-ing it but that's okay....we had fun and made some pocket change. Saw dealer friends from home: Ginny & Ron. Day ended with seeing a nurse that I had worked with at Jones Memorial Hospital. This small world is amazing. Packing up consisted of tossing our small inventory into 3 boxes, taking down 4 small tables and waving good-bye to our next-door dealers.....so easy! So different from Brimfield. The day culminated with a tasty meal at the "Ale-House" with our best picker friends: Sam & Sandy. They had spent their day at Webster - Sam "picking" his way through the West Side (the Best Side) while Sandy perused the new Flea Market items (another side). The day was "Good to the Very Last Drop" - which we did when we hit home: dropped! I hope you have not tired of all this ...... there's a lot more to follow. A special surprise is coming ...later this week. Stay tuned!
