Party Time

Slowly but surely, we are settling in to our winter home. Finding out what we forgot to bring and either repurchasing or just "letting it go" --- none of it of any major consequence. My beautiful, lighted, outdoor tree stays dark and lonely instead of twinkling like a million stars at the night. The plug is missing. We'll either just pack it away or let it stand alone: quiet and dark like a spook in the night. Each finding allows another trip to Wal-Mart which gives me joy and pleasure. We've made our way to some of our other favorite shops with more yet to go.....so many choices - life is good. Last Friday night, the Tropical Palms Park sponsored a "Welcome Back" party for all of us snowbirds. It was very nice and great seeing so many familiar, happy faces. The entertainment was super.....the singer was a "Buddy Holly" clone....he also imitated other famous singers. A fun night was had by all....except Lulu who decided to stay at home. She can't be the "Hit of The Party" all of the time.....there's a store in Toledo, Ohio by that name (FYI). Cory and I are trying to get back in shape or actually, just in shape -- so we are doing daily walks. We may have to walk a million miles to get the results we need but we are working at it. We used to walk every day: rain, sleet, hail or snow, when we had Chip. We slowly got out of the habit but now it's time to start "walking the walk" instead of just "talking the talk." This is a busy week: there is the big Fly Wheelers Steam Show that Cory likes going to with Sam & George. His first physical therapy session conflicts with it so he won't be able to go....there's another show next month. The big RV show in Tampa starts Thursday. We plan to go to that with Sam & Sandy. Mt.Dora has its big antique extravaganza this weekend. Not sure if we will go or wait until the next show in Feb. So many choices, so many decisions.....I'm breathless taking it all in. I'm glad to see the weather has made a recovery from the tortuous conditions it dumped on so many. Warm thoughts with warm weather for everyone.
