Sometimes an event doesn’t have to be earth shattering to be part of my blog material. I know you realize that I strive to come up with items that will knock your socks off. But that doesn’t have to be 100% of the time...sometimes we can just go barefoot. So, sit back and relax....this blog is just a feel good one. Nothing that’s going to get you all hyped up. But it might.....one never knows how another will react to a life’s event.
We did get pretty excited and hyped up the other day when our golf cart finally arrived. Lulu was beyond exhilaration. She grabbed her pumpkin and took off on the golf cart. Too early for Trick or Treat, Lu! She doesn’t care.....she’ll ride forever just hoping for any handout. What a leech she can be at times. Walt & Diane’s & Sonny & Dede’s golf carts came on the trailer with ours. Cory has been caught trolling around in Walt’s golf cart on their site. It’s like he’s looking for them. I think he calls out for them, too ......Waaaalt......Diiaaaane.....Where Are You???? Sometimes he just sits in their cart waiting and watching for them to show up.
Kind of pathetic.
He can’t sneak a ride on Sonny’s green cart....he and Dede are here! Hip-Hip-Hooray. It so good to see them again. Sonny came over the other day. He had a chit from the Hotel Solsville to give Cory in exchange for a drink. All he got was coffee cause it was still morning. We go by the motto “It’s 5:00 Somewhere” but still not in the morning where we are. Sorry, guy. He’s coming back later. Anyway, this chit has special significance to us. We used to do a big antique show in Madison-Bouckville (NY). Sonny and Dede live close to Bouckville and this hotel/restaurant.....they have gone there. Years ago, with our friends, Les & DeAnne, we went to the Hotel Solsville for dinner. We both were set up at the MB antique show selling our wares. The hotel was not too far from the show. It was quite a rustic and rugged place as I remember. Before going in for their buffet, we decided to have a Happy Hour in their parking lot. We had liquor but nothing to drink it in. It’s uncouth to slug it out of the bottle! Ingenious Les created unique glasses
from old tops and cans that he had in his vehicle. We may have not been drinking from Waterford crystal but the drinks were good and we shared such a fun time together. Great memories. So....that’s why this chit from the Hotel Solsville is so special.....as is Sonny!! He’s special, too. He’ll get a proper drink with it upon his return. Wait....I think I hear him knocking now. Knock, Knock. Cory is flying out the door with two big fat Manhattans in his hands. Lulu tries to catch up to him....best she can. She likes a pop once in awhile.....lush! Cheers to all!
Able to cruise the park in our golf cart, we have seen various attractions. One being another turtle. It was making its way to the park’s pond. It was on a mission and no one or nothing was going to stop it. It fled as fast as a turtle can flee. We called him Timmy the Turtle. He was nicer than Thomas the Turtle. Hyped up, now?
I took a photo of one of the empty sites in the Sandcastles where a cottage had been taken away. If you own or rent one of these
cottages, now you can see what’s underneath it. Inquiring minds wanted to know.
The other vacant view is from our RV looking down our roadway. Sam and Sandy hopefully will soon fill in the empty site next to us. The rest of the empty sites are up for grabs. We usually don’t have this long, distant view.
Speaking of our RV, I took a couple photos of the inside of our living area. You can see we live comfortably in our little mobile house. We have everything we need....4 TV’s, loungers, computer, washer/dryer (in bedroom area).....but no dishwasher. It’s only Cory and me so it’s not a big deal to wash the dishes by hand. They keep telling everyone to wash their hands so I am.
Cory and I stopped at a new Miller’s Ale House restaurant closer to where we live. It’s right across from the Walmart (my favorite store) we always go to (Calypso Cay). How convenient! Another dream-come-true. Oh, yes, Virginia.....we do live in the world next to Disney!!! Remember Miller’s Ale House up on 192? That’s where we always went on Wednesdays for their lobster special. They don’t do that anymore. Rats! This
new restaurant is very nice and being closer to us is even better! Yum, Yum!
While on the subject of food, let’s talk about Bar Harbor. Remember that is where we go to get seafood that is to-die-for and reasonably priced. It is a place that provides all the surrounding restaurants with their seafood. So we are getting ours right from the grouper’s mouth!! They recently sent out an email showing their renovations to their store. It needed it and looks great. You go inside and order. They call your name and you go to the pick-up window get your tasty cuisine. Dining is at their picnic tables. Nothing fancy but oh, soooooooo good. Love their lobster rolls!
Now this might just get you hyped up! Remember when we were at Tropical Palms last time?.....of course you do....why do I ask. Anyway, remember when we meandered through OLD TOWN and came upon potential new stores that might open.....’member? Anyway, because of my bad knee, I have not dragged myself up there this year but active Cory has. We heard Shoney’s might open next week. The new bar -The Garage- is open. And here is the beauty........hold onto yourselves.
Cory saw not one, but two, of the “fish eating feet” stores....OPEN AND IN BUSINESS! Hallelujah! They are called Garra’s - a fish spa experience. “Let our Garra Rufa fish swim around your feet and provide a sensation that feels great” ........as these fish nibble and chew on all the dead crap on your tootsies. Ooooooooo.......exciting! The man offered Cory a test trial but he refused! What’s wrong with him! I would have dunked my feet in before he could say EAT. When telling us his tale, Cory also said they had 2 waist deep tanks.....think about it!! Sometimes Cory exaggerates! Bet you’re hyped up now.
Of course, I’ve saved the best for last. Here are more photos of our brand new, great-grandson: Henry Knapp. What a precious bundle of love he is! It’s no fun not being able to see and hold him.
That’s it, folks. Happy Halloween in case I get too distracted by my knee surgery on October 26th. I’m all set to go except I have to have a Covid test this coming Monday. Get busy writing your sympathy cards to me....I love pity and sympathy.
I hope and pray to be with
you again soon.....or Cory is going to have to take over this blog writing.
