Yes, Yes, Yes! Many of our friends are arriving here at Tropical Palms. There are still many more yet to arrive, though. Sadly some of our dear friends aren’t returning this year. We’ll save a seat at the table for them, though. They will be missed!
Dave and Linda pulled in the other day. It’s great riding around on our golf cart and now see a familiar RV parked in a familiar site. Better yet, it’s even greater to see the people who have traveled in that RV to get here. We were glad we could be part of the welcoming committee for Dave and Linda. What a happy and great couple. We feel like the Walmart greeter......remember that’s my favorite store. Walt and Jon had arrived to greet them before us. Diane & Patti gathered up Linda and gave her a golf cart tour of the park. Linda & Dave stopped by our RV the other evening for a visit. Dave tried out our new theater lounge chair. He liked it! So nice to be with the both of them again.
Cory and I had gone out for something, anything. I’m sure it was something we HAD to
have! Upon our return, Cory noticed a car near the lobby building here. He said it looked like Sam & Sandy’s. I didn’t see it. Be Still My Heart ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️! Whaaaaaat do we spy with our little eyes? As we came upon our RV, there were Sam & Sandy positioning their RV on their site....right next to ours. Hallelujah! They have arrived! Lulu just about fell out of RV she was so excited to see them! We hesitated about racing over to them cause we know the need of concentrating while setting up your RV. Finally, we couldn’t stand it and bounded across their lot like fleeing deer to welcome them. We have waited for this moment for many months. So wonderful seeing and being with them again. Lulu is still breathless. She gets so emotional! Love that sensitive part of her!
We left them be to get organized and then, just like the old times, they came over to our RV. Life is Good! Together again. We chatted for awhile but we were all hungry so we followed our usual routine: go out for dinner.
We went to the new Cheddars on 192. Got a table right
away. The acoustics there are not suitable for table talk. We yelled back and forth to each other. No matter, just being together again was the topping on the cake. “There are good ships and wood ships but the best ships are friendships!” Amen.
We parted ways back at the RV. Sandy had driven the RV the whole way down. Sam rode shotgun! They were both tired. See you in the morning, guys!
Lulu perched herself on our dash so she could look over at their RV all night. Their site has been vacant up until now.
Ritual routine time. We all headed up to the lobby for morning coffee or your own choice of beverage. The coffee is very strong.....I don’t want hair on my chest! Cory is like Sasquatch from drinking it. I don’t want to get personal and ask the other men the status of their hair growth. Dave and Ray were there. Our group is beginning to fill in. Yippee! Lots to chat about. A true coffee catch. Sam posed with a new member of the group before we left. Mersadies looked cute as a mustard jar.
We were all excited to
head back to Sam & Sandy’s RV. They had a new travel lift installed in their RV to assist Sam getting in and out of their motor home. The lift was installed at home but because of a couple obligations, they didn’t get instructions on how to use it. Sam had not tried it out yet. There was a video to watch, though. This was his maiden voyage and we were all there to watch it. Yeah! We brought in bleachers and charged a small admission fee. The ride up and down went well with just a couple glitches but nothing that can’t be worked out with time and practice. It’s like he has his own personal amusement park ride. Up he goes and down he comes. Up and down.....up and down! I hope he gives rides to others. Lulu has already asked about buying a ride ticket. She will love it!
Today there were some Halloween festivities at the park. We were decorating our golf cart and ourselves for a golf cart parade through out the park. Before that, we walked up to Old Town and had lunch at the new Nathan’s/Arthur Treacher’s restaurant. Sam was happy with
his tasty corn dog.....to each his own. They have a new scooter store at Old Town that we checked out. Just like going to a car dealership with all the models on display. Some of the classic cars had arrived for tonight’s cruise night so we had an early preview back through Old Town. Headed back to the RV’s and took a golf cart ride around the park.
HEY! Looky, Looky! Just as we rounded a corner in the Sandcastle area, Jon and Nancy were just pulling into the roadway to their cottage. Welcome, Welcome, Welcome! Wonderful to see you again! They’re Coming! They’re Coming! HipHipHooray! Slowly the migration has begun. It makes all of us early birds so happy.
We got our Halloween outfits on and Cory drove our decorated cart up for the line up. Our costumes and cart decor were kind of a make shift job.....we figured we would be put to the end of the line. Nope...we could ride with the pack. Others did an outstanding job with their decorations and outfits. We just had fun and laughed at ourselves with our make shift setup. After the parade, we returned back to the RV
to hand our candy for the trick or treaters. Jon and Nancy joined the four of us as we sat in the dark waiting for the kids to arrive. That was fun. We got quite a few trick or treaters. Back at home (which we no longer have, remember) we had very, very few trick or treaters because of the rural area we lived in. Actually a few years we had not one trick or treater even though Cory stood ready in his scary costume to frighten the kids to death. Maybe that’s why we didn’t get any more.
That’s it folks! Happy Halloween ? ? ?
