Ok, Folks. It’s time to get into our usual routine. I hope you are all relaxed and ready to continue on with our winter respite exploits. As some of you are experiencing frost on your pumpkins, we are experiencing heat so hot it is burning our pumpkins! You want heat? We have heat! Please take some of this sweltering heat. Pleeeeeease! We usually hold off using the a/c as much as possible in our RV. Forget that! We are cranking the 2 air conditioners up as high as we can plus using portable fans to blow the cool air around inside. We know we’ve been known to have a lot of “hot air” but this is beyond comprehension. Lulu has added a ice pack to her carry bag. She hates to be seen dripping sweat. She’s having such difficulty with her hair on these horrible humid days. She always strives to look so perfect but she feels frumpy during this blistering battle with the scalding heat.
Sam was a happy camper as we headed out to our first flea market of the year......together. Cory and I had already gone with our daughter, Lory, to The Red Barn Flea Market in
Sarasota.....’member? We arrived at the familiar Flea Market in Auburndale. Sam likes it ..... the rest of us found the same stuff in the same place sold by the same dealers as in years gone by. Lulu likes to see all the fluffy, fancy dresses and wishes she had a body to put them on. Sorry, Lu, you are out of luck. Just be glad you have your head! And sometimes she acts like she’s loosing it!
Our day here was really made special as we ran into good friends we haven’t seen in quite awhile. Lulu recognized them right away and flung herself out of her carry bag right into their loving arms. Dennis & Darla! How wonderful to see them again. They look terrific. Lulu had to hold back flowing tears as she was so excited to see them again. She is so emotional, you know. Dennis and Darla are loyal and devoted followers on this blog. They truly are deserving of being blog worthy and having their photo taken with their best fan, Loving Lulu! So glad to see you both and hope our paths will cross again in the near future. Lulu will be in
the crow’s nest of our RV window watching eagerly and patiently for your arrival. If she could hold her breath, she would.
The big question? Where shall we eat now? It is always a frequent and common question we share. While driving through Lake Alfred, we noted a diner that Sandy said Sandy Sherman (remember pool Sandy?) would go to and enjoy. We circled back around and ambled on in. Lots of cars outside and lots of people inside. We scanned their daily specials. Today we would get free dessert with our selected entree. Various mounded plates of delicious food passed by us to other customers. I felt a little drool form in the corner of my mouth. Sam made his selection and the 3 of us ordered their roast beef and mashed potatoes. The beef (2 huge slices) was sooooo tender. We also had soup or salad, another side plus dessert for.......$9.99! We are going back! You should try it if you are out cruising around. My photos show you their daily specials but they also have a big menu plus breakfast foods are served all day.
Well, today we are licking our wounds. Big wounds, too.
You know how we love going to Bar Harbor for their yummy and reasonably priced seafood. Sandy checked her emails later in the day yesterday and found one from Bar Harbor. It was for yesterday only! Rats! When you bought 2 big lobsters for $7.99 each, you got a 3rd one FREE. Noooooooo. What a steal! On top of that....their luncheon special was twin lobsters with drawn butter for $11.99. Noooooooo. Look what we missed! I almost feel guilty telling you about this. I know it’s not easy for you to take. From now on, we are praying they will run this special again. We’ll be sure to let you know...so you can get your crackers ready to use.
Looky, Looky. Charlene came cruising by in her yellow Mustang convertible. Lulu bounded out of our RV and took her seat behind Charlene. She wasn’t going to miss her chance to be a snazzy lady riding around in a snazzy car! She was in her glory! She loves being snazzy. Thank you, Charlene, for being Lulu’s Uber driver in your fancy machine.
Today, we packed ourselves in our car and took off to the Melia Hotel at Celebration. It’s
actually a Disney hotel. It so attractive and enticing looking. They were having a little Health Show there today. We always need all the help we can get. We gathered up our bag of freebies from the few vendors that were presenting. One person I spoke to regarding the hotel said that sometimes it runs specials and a room might go for $50-$60/night. WOW! We will be keeping an eye open for that just for a night of utter luxury. Doesn’t matter that is just a few miles down the road from TP. Once inside, you can pretend you are on an Island somewhere. Close your eyes: think about the soft sand and warm breeze as the palm trees sway next to the rippling waters.....Aaahhhhhh. Yes, we are there! You feel it, too...don’t you?
Lunch was at Cracker Barrel and dessert was at Baskin Robin’s.....Sam’s treat. Thanks, guy!
Back at Tropical Palms, Cory & I took a golf cart ride. Passed merry friends along the way. The deer were out feeding. Even 2 fawns joined their elders. Whoa! Something’s missing here. A familiar face and friend to many at this park is gone. Rita and Mike and their
destiny cottage are gone! Vacated! Nothing remains on their site except for the wooden entrance stairs and some cement blocks. No idea where they have gone. Wherever they are, we wish them well.
The last photo I’m showing you was just a picture someone put on Facebook. Look at it! I couldn’t take my eyes off from it. What are those dog’s eyes saying? Certainly they are talking from its precious, little heart. Bless it’s heart! It’s such a moving photograph. I love it!
We are done for the day now. Be sure and get yourselves around for morning coffee in the lobby. With much joy, the group is growing each day as more friends arrive home! Welcome back everyone.
