Today was the Buffalo Bills Game Day. Go Bills! Tragically our Internet and TV service was down in our RV and throughout our park. Gag & Choke & Growl. Fear not — where there’s a will, there’s a way. We jumped aboard our blue golf cart and headed along up to Old Town and Frogger’s. Frogger’s is a sport’s bar at the far end of Old Town. With a little squeezing together, most of you managed to get on the golf cart to watch this game with us. It helped that Lulu isn’t a football fan so stayed behind to catch up on her beauty sleep. She would only need a quick nap if that’s the case. Of course, not all of you are Bill’s Fans but since we were at a sports bar, you could watch any football game you wanted on their many TV’s.
Cory parked our golf cart in a designated area for golf carts and motorcycles. When we arrived, there were other carts parked in this section. When we returned, we had the only cart parked in a line with many motorcycles. “If you want to park with the big boys, park at the end of
their row”.
At Frogger’s, we found a table where we could watch the Bills Game on 3 different TV’s. Only problem: no volume for it. Cory didn’t care cause he knows what they are doing. Me, I like to hear the screams from the fans and their “Shout” song. Our son and grandson, Tim & Conner, were at this game. Wish I could have heard their cheers! The MAIN game ( I don’t know which one it was) took precedence over all the rest of all the games and it was broadcasted very loudly throughout the Bar & Grill.
Sunday has always been our pizza day. When in Shongo, after the game, Cory would drive the short distance to Genesee, PA. to get us our yummy Pudgie Pizza. Loved it! Today, we were just going to get a medium pizza (9”) until the waitress said there was a special on their 16” pizza .....almost the same price. We ordered the biggie and took half of it back to our neighbor/friend, Melba. Cory got a couple beers and I had my usual “a whiskey (well) and ginger ale in a tall glass cause I don’t like it strong.” Yuck!
It was strong and didn’t taste like ginger ale in it....but I drank it to be polite. A fellow near us was watching the same game but was a Miami fan. He kept holding his head in despair. He gave Cory half his pitcher of beer and left before the game was over. Cory was one happy guy now.....especially because the Bill’s won! Yeah, Bills. Go Bills!
We walked around half of Old Town to see what is new. They have built a Nathan’s (hot dog) restaurant. It has a good menu...more than hot dogs. Prices look reasonable. There are several more shops being built next to Nathan’s. These are up near the big Ferris Wheel. They are also building a new “Garage-Themed Bar” in the center ....between Frogger’s and Nathan’s. It all looks good!
This past Friday, we gathered together to get a group photo for our “Be Bold, Be Beautiful” event. Nicki Jo posted some of her photos so I borrowed them for this blog. She said we raised $380 for this good cause. Cheers!
Yesterday, the predicted bad storm arrived. We only received heavy rains in the morning. By 1:00 AM, it had passed
and the sun came out. Parts of Northern Florida really were hit bad with tornadoes thrown into the mix. We took a ride around the park on Mr.Blue (our golf cart). The pond and creek waters certainly rose up. I like it better when there is plenty of water in them rather when they dry up and look disgustingly ugly (the creek). I took a picture of the brand new Sandcastle cottages that they just finished up last week. All are For Sale, folks.
The satellite map shows you where we are at Tropical Palms. There is a long, straight roadway and creek that separates our park from the town of Celebration. As you can see, we are right next to Celebration. Rt.192 is the Main Road that we take to get to most of our destinations. I marked Publix where we get our groceries. I marked Old Town where there are gift shops and restaurants. Fun spot is an amusement park. If you are in the area, come by for a visit. We are at site 317. Lulu is in the window watching for you.
Limited space in our motor home so limited amount of holiday decorations
that I could bring. This is what we look like at night. See....I told you we always have a light on for you.
But, for now, let’s turn the lights off and go to bed. It’s been a full day of celebration. Go Bills! Good Night! There are 19 photos so remember to scroll ALL the way down to the end. ?
