Better late than never, I always say. Just needed a rainy day to catch up with myself and we got it! Today is Tuesday, March 19th and it has rained ALL day! Sleeping will be mesmerizing tonight...the sound of rain on the roof of our RV. It’s like sitting on an old front porch listening to the music the raindrops play as they tap upon the metal roof. Dream on.......
We are only a couple days late in wishing all of you a Happy St.Patrick’s Day! We hope your day was happy and lucky! And guess what? Tomorrow is the first day of Spring! Yippee! We knew it would eventually arrive for our family and friends up North. It’s different here in Florida. Hard to decipher between the seasons...they all seem to blend together with sunshine, sunshine and more sunshine (except for an occasional rainy day like today). Lulu is quietly singing in the background ??? You Are My Sunshine, My Only Sunshine???. She loves that tune. And we love her!
Because I bought a lucky, four-leaf clover top to wear, we decided we had to celebrate St.Patty’s Day somewhere. Cory is far more Irish than me but he
didn’t have anything green to wear. He refused to wear one of my green shirts...don’t know why. We leaped over to the town of Celebration to see what was going on there. They had their weekly Farmer’s Market happening. We bought one tomato. We decided to eat at their Town Tavern. We have been here before...we like it a lot. We were seated outside next to the sidewalk fencing. Perfect! It was very festive with all the happy, merry makers celebrating this glorious green day! They had Irish fiddlers playing Irish tunes at the tables. One gal visited a table of Italian revelers. They requested an ItaIian opera and Amore. A nice but different combination. I ordered a super yummy drink...something called a Banana Melon_______?? It was to die for! Cory had his usual Manhattan on the rocks. My meal was calamari....one of my very favorites. Cory got their meatloaf stacker: Texas toast, mashed potatoes, meatloaf, gravy covered with those scrumptious onion straws. What a relaxing and fun way to spend the day. Lulu is not Irish at all so she did not join us. Understandable.
We went to Publix to rent a Redbox movie. On the way, we
walked past Mulligan’s Irish Pub at the Water Tower Plaza (Celebration). They had set up a huge tent behind their bar & grill. We wandered in. The place was packed with many partygoers dressed in green in one form or another. One fella posed with Cory in his unique outfit. He said the guy he was straddling was his Uber driver! The band was on break so we left.
The movie we rented was “Gotti” with John Travolta. It was good. Did I mention before we have also watched the “Green Book?” That was a very good movie and recommend it.
We are trying to offer our deep appreciation to Dave & Linda and George & Carole for their hard work in removing and replacing our four levelers. A simple thank you does not seem adequate enough. We rounded up George and Carole and took them to Ford’s Garage for a meal. We are still trying to make a date with Dave & Linda. The Ford’s Garage is a restaurant with a Ford garage theme....appropriate, right? I showed you photos of it in a previous blog. We had a nice meal while sharing our good friendship.
Before
we left George & Carole’s RV, they had a visitor. Oh, if only Lulu had been there! She loves meeting all creatures of this world. A wild turkey was right outside of their RV. It was very calm around people so I was able to take some nice snapshots of it. It really favored George cause he was feeding it! He did a special cackling sound to try and talk to it. It turned away...must have been something he said. We pray we don’t see this bird again at next Thanksgiving in a different form. Fly Away, Fly Away Tessie the Turkey!
Remember our cruise? Remember we went to Bonaire? We had Sandy take our picture there while we held a local newspaper, The Patriot. It is published in Cuba, NY and circulated all around our area at home. They ask for photos of places people visit and take their newspaper with them. Well, they recently published OUR photo from Bonaire holding their paper....on the front page!!! Hooray! Ready to provide autographs whenever you want.
Happy Springtime...March 20th! Time to celebrate the Spring Equinox.
