Farewell photo of Knapp Family
Cory, Jay, Lory, Sara, Ashlynn, Sandy Of recent, we have had some wonderful family reunions here in Florida. They have all left now and have returned to New York State. It’s always sad to say good-bye but we will be back with them all by the end of the month. Pitifully, they have returned to snowland. Rats! Oh, how we hope it is all gone before we put our tootsies on the ground at our house. At least, Lulu doesn’t have to worry about her tootsies (no feet). She’s smug about that.
Late last Thursday, our oldest grandchild, Alan Knapp, arrived here in Florida. His fiancée, Brittany, was with him plus their friends, Tom & Maureen. They were staying at The Holiday Inn on 192 across from Old Town....very close to us. Alan is Lory and Jay’s oldest child. He’s 26 years old. He and Brittany are getting married in September. Lulu is hoping to be asked to be a bridesmaid....or even the flower girl. She loves to dress up....only with hair ornaments cause that’s all she really has to turn herself into a fancy dancy lady...well, maybe some jewelry around her head, too. She loves bling!
We all gathered together at the timeshare on
Saturday for dinner. Food was yummy. Thank you, Lory & Jay. Being all together was absolutely the best. Lulu was so excited. She wasted no time getting in as many pictures as she could. Poor Alan had a terrible sunburn on both his feet and ankles...they had gone to the beach and he didn’t put his sunscreen on them. Again, Lulu is smug cause that will never happen to her (no feet). I did the teabag application to his feet hoping that might help his red tomato colored feet.....plus painful! Poor Al!
This morning, Lory, Jay, Sara & Ashlynn came over in between checking out of the timeshare and leaving for the airport. They were flying out of Sanford. Lory brought over their leftovers that they couldn’t take back. Sam & Sandy came by to say good-bye to them. By 11:00am, they were sailing out of our park in their rental car. Adios...Goooood-bye.....see you soon. We will miss you until then.
We decided to drown our sorrows by walking up to Burger King for lunch with Sam & Sandy. Tasty! We were sitting on a bench in Old Town, when to our surprise, along came Al, Brittany, Tom
At Cypress Harbour
Tom, Maureen, Alan, Lulu, Brittany & Maureen. Yeah! It was good to see them one last time before they left to fly out of the Orlando Airport. Adios...Goooood-bye.....see you soon!
We had a couple errands to run so the fearless foursome boarded our Flex once again. Went to Bealls and returned a top. Went to BJ’s. Went Walmart ( my favorite store, remember). I took a photo of a woman who had the shortest shorts on! Looked like her underwear. Was actually a bathing suit bottom BUT really.....would you go shopping like that....would you?? Lulu wouldn’t - even if she could.
We decided dinner would be at Cheddars. We had a lovely waitress in-training. Told her if she could handle our orders, she would never have a problem. She laughed but we were speaking truthfully. Dinner went along smoothly until Sam dumped a lemon wedge into Sandy’s cup of dressing. He had scrubbed his hands with this lemon. He thought her cup was empty. WRONG! Sandy gave him the snake eye. He was nervous now and said he felt bad about it. I took his picture looking sad. Bet he doesn’t load her dressing cup up with his used food again. Even with
doggie bags, we left filled to the brim.
Being close to the city of Kissimmee, Cory drove down through it. I had found information about a unique ice cream parlor here...somewhere. Actually, we came upon it easily. Looked like a converted gas station. It is called Abracadabra. The ice cream is made from scratch. First liquid dairy ingredients are poured into a large metal bowl. Then you select 3 ingredients to add to that....way too many choices, let me tell you. Then they take this bowl over to a huge liquid nitrogen tank and zap it. Next the server begins stirring it all. A real cloud come out of the dish....billowing white smoke all over. Then she chops at it for awhile. She sets this metal pan into another pan with hot or warm water. She returns to mashing the ice cream. It has now taken ice cream form. She piles it high into a dish.....and this was a small! Cory and I shared one as did Sam & Sandy. Even though we were so full from supper, we managed to squish this yummy delight into ourselves....just like magic.
We had done ourselves in so traveled back to
Tropical Palms. I felt like a refrigerator crammed to the brim with all sorts of stuff. No wonder we made room for ice cream....look what the outside temperature read on our car! Are you kidding me? Are we riding on the sun or what? Turn down the heat!! Once back in our neighborhood, Cory drove around the park and came upon at least 18 deer grazing next to the cottages. Wow! So many Banbi’s.
A special day tomorrow. Watch for my annual, repetitive blog. All that changes is the number.
AND then on Wednesday, it’s operation day No.2. Yes, I go under the knife again. This is for my last cataract in my left eye. More grueling details to share again with you I’m sure. I’ll be glad to have it done. It’s been tricky looking out of my eyes where only one eye has correct vision. They call me “Blinky”. I’ll still be wearing the blind person ? sunglasses for awhile. I’ll be glad when I can chuck them.....they don’t make me look like fancy dancy woman at all.....I look like Ray Charles! Even Lulu isn’t interested in them. She wants to look like a pretty dame
all the time.
So stay with us. Fingers crossed that Cory doesn’t set off any fire alarms this time. I hate being carved on and then hear all the bells and whistles. It’s good he’s there but he just has to remain quieter and not cause any commotion. “See” you soon, I hope.
