Ken woke up around 8 am and made coffee. Jason and I got up; we drank coffee out on the back porch. There is not much of a breeze and the morning son is hot. We decide to go back inside. Lola is still sleeping. We decide to let her sleep. She worked so hard at swimming yesterday, she probably needs the rest.
I decide at 11 am to wake her up. Their bedroom is so dark because of the hurricane shutters that roll down. It makes for a wonderful sleep. Lola and I eat yogurt while Pops makes eggs and bacon. After breakfast it’s time for Sea Doos. We butter up and head out. Lola is going to ride with her Daddy today on the fastest Sea Doo. She is so excited. It’s a gorgeous day and we explore the area around our island. There are many other little islands around ours and one has a resort. There is also an area where people gather during the day, anchoring their boats and Sea Doos. They bring floats, beverages and various toys and spend the day out in the ocean. The water is only waist deep so it is perfect.
There is also a ‘hippie guy’ who has rigged together two pontoons and ties to a tree on one of the islands. He has a couch, plants and who knows what else. We think he lives there permanently. The water is calm today and we have a great time. After a while we head back to our little paradise. Lola can’t wait to tell me that she and Daddy got up to 70 mph! We all rinsed off in the outdoor shower and jumped in the pool. I made a little lunch and we spent the rest of the day in the pool and hot tub. You really don’t want to go anywhere when you are here because it is such a paradise.
Lola and I jump in the pool holding hands and shouting as we jump. Sometimes we do cannon balls, sometimes we twist and sometimes just jump. A large green iguana shows up on the dock and Ken got some good pictures. The best part of my day is when Lola puts her hands on my cheeks and says I love you GeeGee. Sometimes she calls me GeeGa….usually when she is playful. When she wants me for
something, it is always GeeGee.
We had planned to go out for dinner, but we don’t have the desire to leave this place, so we ordered take out from Looe Key Resort and Ken and I took the golf cart to pick it up. We also need water, fuel for the Sea Doos and some beer. We ate dinner during sunset on the top porch; listening to the waves and watching the boaters come and go. After dinner Lola wanted her nails painted. She wants to have them done for camp on Monday. Jason is tired so he goes to bed. After her nails dry, I tuck her in to bed in her Daddy’s room. Ken and I read for a while and then go to sleep.
