Wishing you Happy Holidays
Some of us are lucky to be able to blog and say Happy Holidays to the folks 'away'. (Okay, I know we have put that expression on the opposite foot but you might be 'away' too.)

Also, it's time for the get up and go mode after a long hiatus on solid ground. Refitting continues at a brisker pace, while another big Publix bird is roasting in the oven, with sweet potatoes, which are wonderfully plentiful here.

We have been lucky to share the company of many terrific people while in Jacksonville. Some have taken us around to see the Christmas sights and lights, a nice way to end the year.

After our quest to escape snow, we are flabbergasted to see that people in
Florida act as if it is a major part of the holiday, even thought rare here. Perhaps it's the inspiration of the old crooners, (Sinatra or Crosby?), dreaming of a white Christmas? Their dreams may come true as we launch on Monday or Tuesday, with predictions of another Artic air mass, winds up to 45 and temperatures into the teens. LOL Perfect motivation to skidaddle.

Right now things are 'merry and bright' as we're working away in shirt sleeves. And thankfully things change, eventually and always.

Looking forward to wishing you Happy New Year from Vero Beach.

Hello Chris and Frank. Hope you have a nice christmas and a happy New Year. Like the picture that you put on the blog. But I didn't see the turkey, or don't they have those in Jacksonville? Hope that you and Frank have a good year and a save trip in 2011. Thea and Nico, Sandy and Ember.

Happy New Year!
Chris and Frank, it's shivery here and overcast with snow on its way for tomorrow and the day after that too. Boo hoo. I'm envious of the blue and green and thought of warmth that I see in your photos. I must say that the party must have been some fun...the pix is a bit on the blurry side! I'm thinking of returning to Africa next summer. Imagine. Perhaps I'm losing my mind (as I've lost the silverware -- no kidding: it isn't in the cabinet, which speaks to what grief can do, but I can smile because the kids think it's just stashed somewhere in this house without closets). My wine and cheese and dinner for friends was a great afternoon-evening, sans pix. Now I'm trying to clean out the fridge without gaining weight since i finally have clothes that fit, having divested myself of the pre-Jim things and accepted the slimmer me. Yes, reading this over, perhaps my sense of humour can stand revising. Take care. Hugs to you both.
